Tigers 2024-2025 Offseason: Trades, Free Agents, Call ups, Rule 5, tender, non-tender, Awards

Guys, Ilitch ain't never not gonna spend no more money on this team. I'm still shocked he splurged on Baez, but that was the final object lesson. And that "lightning in a bottle" streak of last season, demonstrates that you can win 86 games and get into the post season without breaking the bank. It's been that way for years now, so I speculate that CI won't sign big-name FAs in any event. Also, there's a record of teams that win 100 games failing in the post season as well.

I kinda see it from CI's viewpoint for the first time. I just wish he'd come out and say so.
I feel we're all realizing he'll never spend big money, but its the way the team has spent the little bit of money that some of us are concerned about.

Another rumor.

The Mets are considering trading for Spencer Torkelson.

As for external options, one first base fit the Mets are considering is a trade for former No. 1 overall draft pick Spencer Torkelson. The 25-year-old righty bat is coming off a poor 2024 campaign and there's currently no path for him to play everyday after the Detroit Tigers signed second baseman Gleyber Torres and plan to move Colt Keith to first base.

SI article so take that with a grain of salt.
