Rich what? Richmond![/color]]Finnegan has recently been asking Tulloch how Detroit has treated him, including tweeting something to that affect.

He can ask all he wants....the Lions don't have the 5 or 6 million a year to throw at him that he is going to get on the open market.

We'll see. I read somewhere that 25% of the NFL players will be unrestricted this year, the most ever. That will drive down some prices, similar to last year.

There are other corners available, like Grimes (I just read ATL might let him walk), Carr, Porter, and Samuel. Considering Finnegan's character issues, and his inconsistent play (he didn't have a good 2010 IIRC), I could see him taking a bargain deal to play in Detroit with Schwartz, KVB, and Tulloch. I'm not saying it will happen, but there's a chance.

Really, that's Detroit's only hope of getting a quality corner if Avril is re-signed IMO.

you guys come find me when the Lions sign a CB of any stature in FA...I think they go into 2012 with Houston , Wright , Smith and Berry.

simply don't have the $$$ to throw around.

Finnegan isn't going to be looking to give bargains in what will most likely be his last FA of his career.

Just curious to why you think he will get the 5 or 6 Million multi-year this year, when he really didn't have any takers last year.

Or did he turn some down last year?

Edit: Never-mind....I thought you were talking about Tulloch being out of here. Thats why you always read the entire thread :(

True. My point simply was that he might not see the long-term $6 million a year deal he's hoping for. You'd think he would, but last year tons of guys were forced to take less. I'm simply saying it could happen again.

But for the most part, I agree that Detroit won't be able to find a solution at corner unless Avril walks.
