Pettigrew

I know he wasn't targeted alot last year, but didn't he have 0 drops last year?

4 drops on 45 catchable balls. Still a poor drop rate per catchable ball but better.

Pettigrew is on a team friendly deal and can be a productive player. And he is a good blocker overall in his career and was good in pass pro last year. Run blocking can get back to old form.

2.2 million cap number this year.

With a 2.2 million cap this year who was going to come to Detroit and save our secondary for that money?

Talib 7.9 cap number, Vontae Davis 6.25 million, Rodgers Cromartie 2.7 million very backloaded, Verner 8.2 million , Captain Munerlyn 3.3 million, Antonio Cromartie 1 year 3.5 million

LOL Revis.

So Rodgers Cromartie on a 7 million per, backloaded contract and that's about it.

Tate and Pettigrew combined were 5.3 million on the cap.

Relying on Slay to develop in year 2 (not crazy with his skillset and fit in scheme and Terly Austin coaching) and Mathis to repeat 2013 is smart and cheap.

I have not really heard much on how Dennard has played. Has anyone heard anything?

Dennard hurt his hip and has looked like junk. Fuller looked good but hurt now too.

Nobody said anything about SAVING the secondary.....however....Captain Munnerlyns cap hit is only $1M higher......

Corey Graham signed a 4 year/ $16M deal.....his 2014 cap hit is $2.5M. I'd rather have either one of them as a Lion over Pettidrop Fumblehands.

Fact is....even at 2.2M, Pettigrew is overpaid and that money could have been better spent in other places to help this team.

Marvin Lewis this morning on @DDennard21: "The best rookie corner I've seen." Radio coverage of #Bengals at KC starts at 6:30 #WhoDey

Before he got hurt and now he stinks. Just like Houston did while playing hurt.

Lol....yes.....I'm sure one minor hip injury in the preseason of his rookie year means he's terrible!

Wonder if he gets cut like Houston did?

Dennard has played terrible. Dennard on a cheap contract so no he won't. There is the difference.

Dennard hasn't played a regular season game of football. I can't wait for him to be a pro-bowler and elite CB, and the Lions again look stupid. But that's what they do best.

He went to Michigan State. Clearly he's going to suck.
