PFF Review Week 14

Your reading comprehension is not very good. I wasn't knocking him selecting 3 defensive linemen...I was knocking him for the TE's on the roster.

But you did knock him. You said for using 3 1st round picks he better hit on them. You are not understanding he didn't have to build the Dline in Round 1 only. But he did. It was genius and it's a reason we are a very good team with the number 1 PPG defense, rush defense and top 5 in most other areas.

Plus you need to give a rookie more than 13 games and understand Pettigrews role in blocking. And past production too.

A monkey would have picked Suh

Fairly fell to him and was a good value pick at that time.

The Lions didn't have a pass rushing DE when they took Ansah...good pick there.

Again, I never ripped on him for taking the D-linemen. It wasn't genius though. When you are picking in the top 10 year after year you better get some great players.

Until we can beat a good team regularly or on the road..same ole same ole.

It was genius. he didn't have to take any of them. He's great in free agency with Quin, Ihedigbo, Tulloch (previous years). Great in mid round LBs with Levy and Whitehead. Good with CBs wiht Slay in Round 2 and Mathis last two years cheap. Solid cheap guys like Johson, Tapp and Mosely for depth. Great job by Mayhew all around. he built a great defense and talented offense.

No one is saying Mayhew hasn't made any good decisions but he has absolutely no clue when it comes to the TE position.

GMs are evaluated by how they do in the draft. First round picks are expected to produce. Great GMs find pro bowl caliber talent in the rounds after the first. Mayhew hasn't done that.

of course he didn't...and he didn't have to take all of the busts he selected either but he did.

Anyway...Suh, Fairly and Ansah were not genius picks. Like I said, SUh was a no brainer, Fairly fell to him and Ansah was a dire need pick. He didn't have to take any of them but none of the picks were genius.

labeling the handling of suh as "genius" is pure gold. Literally, suh is worth more than a pure gold life size statue of himself. Way to put all the cap hit in the final year so you cant even franchise him. The only GM I ever seen that does that to every single one of his superstars. Opposite of genius.

If you take the cap hits of Suh since his rookie deal you could actually purchase over 10 solid gold Suh statutes and still have 3,880,522 dollars left to spend.

lol

Gold is trading at $1228 per oz right now. Gold Suh is worth $6,000,000 right now!

Based on current stats through 13 games, based on his cap hit, for every 13 Tackles he makes he could buy 1 Gold and 2 Silver Life size Suh's and still have close to 30K in his pocket.

You have to admit the Lions are doing well when the board has enough time to talk about this. Finally some fun in December
