Supposedly Bill kept advising Hillary's staff to focus on the midwest, and get a message out to working class whites there, but her staff dismissed his concerns.

I was initially surprised by the result, having seen the disparity in dollars spent and campaign offices between Clinton and Trump, but.. yeah the Clinton money was largely spent ineffectively. And Who could have predicted that funding an army of Lena Dunhams to call for the extinction of white men would not help Hillary win over white guys in rural and suburban Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, & Wisconsin?

I think that the smallest minority is the individual. Several persons that I know of have been assaulted for voting for Trump. Unacceptable. And if these protesters truly knew what Hillary stands for, I would expect these people to act the same way and take to the streets in protest. And I would like to know how many of these protesters actually voted.

it's not getting much press; and not going viral, but there have been a steady stream of arrests of right wing terrorists targeting mosques or muslim immigrants here over the last month. 3 guys in KS (I think) were arrested after the FBI interrupted their plot to bomb an apartment building and mosque that housed Somali immigrants.

and now we have elected officials (note: NOT bernie sanders) calls for treating Trump as just another president after maintaining he was a dangerous racist extremist due to his campaign rhetoric.

and putting race-baiters like Bannon in the White House? Nuts.

This ain't looking good, I agree. Putting "Race" Bannon in the public view was ill-advised. I can't sign that racism is "normalized." As for the racism, well, was it ever dead and gone? Seems to me there's an opportunity here for people to coalesce in peace and mutual respect.

it was never dead, you're right. It seems to be moving more to the forefront.

it's taught at home, and passed from generation to generation. and of course ignorant people of every race are guilty of it, not just whites. But as white, European American culture controls the country, white racism has more far reaching negative effects than other forms. it will take a strong effort of public officials... teachers, politicians, etc. to combat that. and of course, racists would scream bloody murder about "PC liberals brainwashing their kids."

Were the 3 guys in Kansas wearing MAGA hats? Were they plotting their attack in the name of Trump? I keep hearing about this increase in hate crimes but is there actual evidence of it? So far, you've attributed a bomb plot to Trump without evidence and Bob has started a thread about how bad all of white America is because someone painted a swastika on a baseball field. I don't see any evidence linking them to Trump or "white America" and more importantly, I don't see any evidence of them getting any support or followers let alone broad support/following from anyone, let alone Trump supporters.
