Lions beat Packers they win North
Lions beat Cowboys and Packers lose to Vikings, Lions win North

Lions lose out, Lions get WC at 9-7 if Bucs lose to Saints and Skins lose 2 of 3. If Bucs beat Saints but lose to Panthers, Bucs get in.

Lions beat Cowboys but Packers win out, Bucs win out, Bucs still get in. Bucs lose 1 and Skins lose 1 of 3. Lions are in

Bucs/Saints could be a huge game. As are all the Redskins games now. Go Panthers tonight

Anything less than beating the packers on Jan 1st and winning the DIV will be nothing but just another failure in the long line of failures for this clown show franchise.

What if the Bucs win out, and the Falcons and Lions lose out, both finishing with identical 9-7 division and 7-5 conference records?

Common opponents:

Saints: Lions 1-0 Falcons 1-1*

Packers: Lions 0-2* Falcons 1-0

Eagles: Lions 1-0 Falcons 0-1

Rams: Lions and Falcons 1-0

*assuming losses

Lions 3-2 Falcons 3-2

Next WC tiebreaker is strength of victory....

IMO the Lions will need to beat the packers on Jan 1st to win the Div and obtain a home playoff game, else they'll be going from 9-4 two games up with 4 to go to nothing, losing out on it all, no div, no playoffs. While if they beat the cowboys they could still make it in as the 6th seed if losing on Jan 1st but I'd still consider that a major disappointment at 6th seed and having to play likely GB then on the road. Really wish the GD bears could have not sucked so bad after tying that game up yesterday. GD packers killing us again and again and again. That Giants game was winnable to. Red zone offense and running game is a joke. whatever happens, two biggest needs

1. Running game is a fucking joke
2. Need a big body or two in the red zone!

Obviously easiest scenario, or at least most straight forward is beat the pack and they are in.

There are scenarios, that are very reasonable, that the Lions could miss the playoffs even if they beat Dallas, but lose to the Pack.

Right now the Lions could be as high as a #2 seed or miss the playoffs completely. A lot of decent teams is really clogging up the playoff picture. Redskins losing tonight would be a big help to the lions.

I'll be pissed if we are 10-6 and miss the playoffs. Beat Boys but Bucs or Skins win out. Especially since we beat the Skins.

Well yeah, I think we'd all be pissed.

After 25 plus years of fandom, I'm used to them sucking and missing the playoffs because they suck. Doing what they did this season... I gotta be honest, it would take me a LOT to come back. For the first time in about 5-10 years, I have FINALLY started to get my emotions invested back into this franchise.

I know a lot of people say they're "done" with a team when they are actually not. This might be the last straw for me. It's been a steady increase of my passion all season, and now I'm starting to buy in again. Missing the playoffs... I don't know if I could stomach this team again. In my life time, other than being at that 2000 finale against the Bears where they lost to miss the playoffs, this would be the biggest gut punch I could take.

IMO, this year is a little different. Many years in the past, Lions teams under performed and their records were probably a little worse than the talent on the roster. This year's team has over performed. Their record is better than the talent on the team. Don't fool yourself...this team is average at best. Enjoy being over .500 and a possible playoff appearance.

me to but prolly no more pissed than I already am for years of ineptitude, I mean shit how much more pissed can one get!? I don't know but the Lions keep finding way to make it worse.

Even during the 8-1 stretch, this has been the most frustrating year for me as a Lions fan. Stafford is better than he's ever been, defense is standing tall when we need them to, and still frustrated. Score some goddamn touchdowns, already!!! I think we see a change on offense this week. Offensive line, and in pt for our receivers/TEs. Something has to change this week.

Who have the Lions beaten that have been any good, besides the 7-5-1 Redskins, @ home in a come from behind, 3 point win? They could still end up being 7-8-1 or 8-7-1 by losing tonight vs spoiler Panthers, and/or then @ spoiler Bears (who nearly upset Packers) and/or vs Giants, who might still have a shot @ the NFCE title...IF the Lions defeat the only truly overachieving team in the NFC next Monday night.

All of the other teams whom the Lions have beaten, are mediocre or worse underachievers, all that are now eliminated. If the Lions defeat both the overachieving Cowboys and the underachieving Packers, to win the NFCN title @ 11-5, then the Lions will have overachieved this season.

Only way they make the playoffs is by backing in. Just don't think they win either game especially if Slay and Riddick don't play.

good point. Riddick being out = no offense. If Slay is out now also they f'kd

So we're rooting for the panthers tonight so that the odds slightly increase that the lions might still be able to back door thier way into the number #6 spot if they loss thier last two games? Meh think I'd rather just root for Washington then, who the hell wants to back door our way into a trip to Lambo just to lose to the packers three times in one season no thanks..

This.....

Product of a cake schedule. Haven't beat anyone. Anytime you get a injury and the likes of zenner and asa jackson get a majority of snaps in crunch time. ....you don't have a talented team. We can't score and there is no humanly possible way to understand a defense that gives up a record pass completion rate by opposing qbs the likes the world has ever seen. ...yet we keep points of the board. That's not sustainable if we can't figure out how to score. As good as he's been. ...that's a matt stafford problem.

Zenner's fumble shifted momentum, and might've cost us 7 points. And I was, and still am bothered by it, but the more I see Washington, the more I think Zenner is the better rb. Zenner shows little to no hesitation, Washington hesitates on every single run, and in all honesty he reminds me of Trent Richardson, maybe even a poor mans version of him. Give Zenner 15 to 20 touches next game, see what happens. I'd be willing to bet it will be our best performance by a rb this year. I think this is how it should've been since Abdullah went down. Washington should spell Zenner, not the other way around. Washington was a gadget guy last year at Washington, maybe we should be using him as that type of a player here too, not a RB1, which he's NEVER been. I'd like to see some plays designed specifically for him, if Cooters got it in him.

I think you would lose that bet. The Lions have one of the worst run games in the NFL. Dalas is #1 vs the run giving up only 81 yards a game.

Well if Zenner rushes for 80 yards, that would mark our best single player rushing performance of the year, now wouldn't it?
