Playoff Scenarios

Abdullah and riddick are hurt. 3rd and 4th string rbs causes problems for any team. Zenner is great for a 4th string.

Lions need to improve run blocking and get swanson and riddick healthy.

Bad fumble and redzone pick. Giants have a good defense but lions can score on cowboys

We signed forsett a month ago. Hes starting for the broncos now while we have a piece of shit fumbling at the end zone.

Fluke fumble. Zenner is a nice 4th RB. The blocking is a problem with Swanson out. Warford had a bad game. Laken is almost firmly a bust.

Broncos have all sorts of offensive trouble too

It was not a fluke fumble it was a helmet on ball and if our dingbat running back had TWO arms on ball he may not have fumbled it, and blocking on that play was fine. It was his fault.. I agree with you he is at best a 4th running back

2 arms on the ball at the goal line has been taught for 100+ years. That play pretty much cost us a chance to be in it at the end.

He is not a fumbler. Fluke for him.

For me, the reason missing the playoffs this year would be so infuriating is because it would require the Packers, who I loathe more than any team in the League, picking themselves off of the mat and finishing the season with a 6 game winning streak, with the topper being a victory over the Lions at Ford Field. That would be fucking crushing to me. I agree with everyone on here that this team has outperformed their expectations (most had them at 4-12 to 6-10 prior to the season starting), but seeing GB win the division AGAIN, clinching it in our house, fuck I dont even want to think about it....

If there's anything that's not a fluke fumble, that was it. Hall put his damn helmet into the football.

Fluke fumble would be a bad snap, poor handoff, stumbling, etc. That was him dropping the ball, ZERO fluke involved.

I think better phrase for LKP would be unfortunate - as its unfortunate that Zenner who usually is sure handed, happened to fumble on that play. I agree that the fumble wasn't a fluke at all, as Zenner was holding the ball with one arm, and it got hit directly by Halls helmet. Just bad timing for a careless mistake. But I bet you Zenner learned and wont make that mistake ever again (hold the ball with one arm while approaching the end zone)

Rare fumble for Zenner. He rarely fumbles. But he did and Lions lost because of it. Giants fumbled too but nobody made them pay (lucky for them). They made a mistake and Lions couldn't take advantage, bounce or not. Stafford forced the pick on 3rd down behind two scores already. Drops, tackled short of sticks, one sack allowed plus some other pressure, poor running, bad play call on 3rd and 8 for WR screen. Lions have and will play better on offense.

And the Slay injury was huge in Beckham making some plays. Game winning plays for them.

We'll see if they add a power back or work more on the Oline or do both. Reiff and Warford are free agents. Warford ok but keeps getting worse every year. Swanson played well but hurt the last two. Decker played well and should have more experience and strength to get better. Glasgow will get his shot at guard with Swanson at center. Laken is probably a better fit at right guard. They need to add a better blocking tight end as well.

But the good news is Bucs and Skins lose, Lions are in no matter what. Lions beat Cowboys then only Bucs have to lose this week (or next). Lions beat Boys and Packers lose, Lions win division. Giants lose on Thursday, then Cowboys could sit people too. Or it all comes down to Week 17. Glad we host that game and Packers D has some problems.

And before you totally bash Cooter and the offense. The Lions lead the league in time of possession per drive and plays per drive (coming into Giants game at least). This helps the defense big time and why Lions are 10th best in PPG allowed in the league despite getting thrown on often and sometimes ran on.

"Detroit plays at the third-slowest pace in the league, taking just a shade over 29 seconds per play; only Dallas and Miami take longer out of the huddle to the snap of the ball. And while Detroit plays at such a relaxed pace, it’s not so surprising that the Lions actually lead the NFL in a time of possession per drive (TOP/Dr), holding onto the ball for an average of 3 minutes and 17 seconds each time they get on offense. What is a bit of a surprise is that they also lead the league in plays per drive (Plays/Dr), snapping the ball 6.78 times per drive.

The game plan to limit possession works

1 fumble on the entire year for our rbs. It was bound to happen. Feed Zenner. Watch him outplay Elliot, lol

So the #2 rushing team, with the #1 rusher in the league, will be out performed by Zenner going against the best rushing D in the league.

Yea sure, why not.

Plays per drive? Who gives a damn about that stat? Put the ball in the damn end zone.

Game time possessions doesn't mean much these days and the fact 15 play drives just have a bigger chance to turn the ball over, or commit drive ending penalties.

It's okay to score quickly.

That stat is great...But Stafford plays better in a hurry up offense .. Use it every now and then when 21.5 points per game offense is sputtering. Not all game but change things up. Heck jim Bob's offense averaged 22.4 points last year. Like D. Says. Get the damn ball in the end zone. Find a darn running back that can stay healthy.

I will be super bummed if we do not win the division. I sure hope we can finish because the schedule will be much tougher next season. If we do not I will be pissed but I am sure I will be back watching next year as I have been every year since late 60's. Super Bowl here we come !!!!!

We're going to beat the boys, expect the unexpected. Zenner is gonna go off!!!! And the over confident Packers re going to get punched in the mouth by the Queens.

Tell you what, if it comes down to that game and the way Aaron Rodgers has been coming on as of late, it will be a hard ask to win that game.
