Good discussion, it's 90% Stafford, 10% Lombardi. Stafford is done here, I fully expect him to be yanked for good a some point this season. If hes incapable spotting wide open receivers in a "vanilla" offense, then I've seen enough of him here. There's just no excuse

Thing is.. Caldwell thinks Matt is good. So does Mayhew. I actually heard Kurt Warner say Matt is trying to do too much, lol, and he thinks Matt will be here for a long time. Other people around the league, announcers and shit, think he's good as well. Not that it means anything..

Need to get rid of Mayhew. New GM needs to get rid of Caldwell. New HC needs to get rid of OC. Then it's Matt's turn to go.. But until then I fear Warner might be right.

Late Edit: Martha goes first, followed by Bill and the sisters or nephews/nieces..

That was painful to watch. Finally someone experts calling him out for what a number of us here have seen for years. This is why we can't count on him to be a QB.

There goes the theory that the weapons just need to get open.

Honestly, I think this goes back to Caldwell and Lombardi coming in and trying to fix Stafford's mechanics. He just is not comfortable at all, from having happy feet to bad reads, he is completely out of tune.

Yet, in the hurry up he doesn't have time to work through the new way and reverts to a more comfortable and natural style. By fixing him, they actually made him worse.

Now, is some of that due to Stafford? Of course! He probably resents these new guys coming in trying to fix his bad habits. Telling an NFL QB he isn't throwing properly after he had once thrown over 5000 yards using that style was likely not well received, whether he voiced his displeasure or not.

And this is why so many are saying let him return to Bing a gunslinger, because he is flat out not comfortable. Add in OL play and lack of running game placing more pressure, both physical and emotional, and they guy has become a broken shell of his potential.

He was missing guys 2-3 years ago. He's just not an accurate QB. Blaming Caldwell and Joe is just an excuse. Said above, 90% Matt, 10% Joe. Because regardless the play calling and can't hit his receivers when it matters.

It is Stafford, it has always been Stafford. They cut down on his attempts last year because he is Stafford and he sucks. If he had the same amount of attempts in 2014 as he did in 2012, he would of thrown for 5,139 yards.

Stafford has never seen the wide open guy, Stafford has never been able to throw a guy open, Stafford has never been accurate, Stafford has never been able to win a big game. Stafford is what he is, not because of coaching, not because of the players around him, not because of the refs, not because of bad luck, not because of scheme, only because Stafford is not very good.

STAFFORD.

Protection and run game. Or hurt weapons if he had proteciton. We've reached an impasse.

I hope they keep him. We'll see what happens.

stafford had a shitty game. but that particular throw he is a right handed quarterback. he had to slide to the left therefore he wasn't able to get his feet under him on this throw to quickly get it out 35-40 yards down the field. That's not something a lot of qb's can bullet throw in there. especially when evading pressure. Look how fast the safety gets over the top, there was a very small chance that stafford could have completed that throw.
