Polanco out in Philly?

I agree with the thinking, but the fact of the matter is that the 2B/3B free agent market stinks and there aren't many guys out there to trade for either. I think Polanco could make a lot of sense as a cheap known commodity who is a place holder for a year. The biggest FAs that make any sense for us are going to be Reyes, Rollins, Beltran, Wilson, and if he opts out Sabathia. We aren't making a run at Pujols or Fielder. We're gonna get better via trade or getting a shortstop and shuffling Peralta over to 2B/3B.

People keep bringing this up.

PERALTA IS NOT GOING TO MOVE FROM SS.

That's the reason the Indians traded him, cause he was so upset at getting moved to Third, and was pretty vocal that he wants to play SS and SS only.

So all the people who want Reyes have to realize getting him would create a huge problem right away, aside from all the other baggage Reyes would bring.

Peralta is on a 1yr/$6mil deal, is a career .268 hitter and he can't carry Reyes' jock strap as a player. It's fine and dandy if he wants to play there, but don't get it twisted. Peralta is an afterthought if you sign Reyes.

I think Reyes would be great at 3rd base as well.. Dude has a cannon for an arm.. You could play him 3rd or 2nd base so he could cover the ground that Peralta otherwise can't

I would rather use Rayburn and put that 6 million toward a better player. I like Polonco and think that it was a huge mistake to let him go, but that was 2 years ago. He is too old and injured now.
