Yeah, its way too early. Yeah, historic epic second half collapse is their MO.

But take a look at the schedules for the other top teams in the NFC and you can sense that this could actually happen. With the last two wins building confidence and a touch of "we CAN do this"...they might just pull off the unthinkable.

Sure they have the Cards and Pats, not to mention AT the Pack historical ineptitude. But the Cards don't have an easy road ahead, and the Boys and Eagles have not only each other but other tough opponents. Green Bay losing last week shows they are vulnerable. Hawks and Niners have it tough too. There actually is potential for many middle teams to get hot in second half and surpass them all too.

Makes for an entertaining 3rd quarter, having the hair on the back of your neck tingle at the sheer audacity to dream the unfathomable COULD happen. Lions now have a kicker who can actually make clutch FGs. IF the offense can gel in this 3rd quarter, and that is the least impossible thought in this post with CJ and Tate opening up everything else...

Happy BYE week everyone!!!!!

All I need to understand is that last season the Lions played the weakest of the weak schedule and lolz. I dont care if they get a 1 seed or 5, just get a playoff W.

If I had to bet money on one of the two things happening...

1) The Lions get the #1 seed in the NFC
2) The Lions lose their last two games and blow the division & miss the playoffs

I think I would have to bet on #2

First they have to beat Miami, then AZ on the road.

Then N.E. after that.

The next 3 games the Lions play will be against teams that have won 12 straight games (Miami 3, Ari. 4, N.E. 5)

We'll learn a LOT about our team in the next 21 days.

If they finish those games at 9-2....I'd say they're NFC FAVORITES!!!!

If they come out of it at 8-3....I'd say they're contenders.

7-4...Eh....I'll probably think the same as I think now. Playoff team that has potential to win a game....but probably not SB contenders.

6-5....MIGHT make the playoffs....but won't win a game.

I'm actually excited about their chances in each game. Can't remember the last time I thought the Lions could compete against anyone.

I'd say that is pretty spot on. Hopefully they take the next step after getting healthy with a week off.

I thought Miami was an easy W before the year started. Theyre playing tough. coming off a trouncing of a decent san diego team where they made phillip rivers look really reaaaaaaallly bad.

Lions at home after a bye week, against a team playing the week before and having a Thursday game the next week should be a win.
Miami looked good though, but this would be a disappointment if we lost.

Not sure if Arizona is as good as their record indicates. Pass defense is horrible, run defense is really good, offense is pedestrian. They are good at protecting the ball and generating turnovers.

New England has looked very good. Dominate Dlines have given Brady trouble, but still don't see this as a win.

Hoping for 3-0, will need defense to continue and offense to step up for this.
2-1 would be nice and put us in great position for playoffs
1-2 would be disappointing, but as long as we're competitive wouldn't change my outlook
0-3 the excuses will be flying.

Rivers looked inept last week too. Did the best imitation of chubby check down that I've seen.

His YPA were a bit low against Denver but he was pretty good. If Matt wants to be chubby checkdown that's fine as long as he plays like Rivers did the week prior.

Threw 2tds and 2 ints in garbage time. Not impressed

Everyone has garbage time. Maybe if it was closer the 2 INT don't happen either. Either way, Rivers>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Stafford.
