No problem, but thanks go out to umbig11 at Touch the Banner. Getting all the info from his posts.
what's the deal with McDoom? just not progressing as a WR?

That's my guess. Perry is a better WR than he is. He's really good in the slot and should be tough for McDoom to overtake. I think McDoom still gets involved on reverses and possibly KR.
Yeah, Perry isn't flashy, but has been solid for us past year both in the slot and on special teams. we'll need him this year.
I saw Perry's criminal settlement in East Lansing was finalized. I hope he doesn't get in anymore trouble & puts that behind him. guessing he's done being punished for it.
I'm assuming he is. He grabbed a girl's ass. Stupid and rude, but it's not the worst thing in the world.
Hell, I had a woman aggressively grab my ass at a bar in St. Louis before the Cards vs Rockies game a couple of weeks ago. I'm still doing ok. I know the board probably would have been very concerned if they heard of this earlier.

should we presume she was not the kind of woman you'd want to do something like that.
do you need a hug?
The following notes are from umbig11:
Typical fall camp with things swirling a bit with every rep being graded.
Confirmed starters at WR1 Crawford, WR2 Black, Slot Perry?.DPJ then Collins
Two QB reports that vary. One says Speight gave up some of his lead/ground to Peters after week 1 evaluations. Today?s report says Speight back in charge. Looks like typical camp comments to me.
Higdon has taken over RB1, Evans, then Isaac. No other backs pushing for snaps.
Running with the 1?s:
Offense:
QB Speight, some Peters and some O?Korn
RB: Higdon/Evans, some Isaac (Higdon leads)
FB: Hill
TE: Bunting, then a host of others (McKeon/Gentry/Wheatley etc)
LT: Cole (locked)
LG: Bredeson (locked)
C: Kugler/Ruiz (thin lead for Kugler)
RG: Onwenu/Ruiz (slight lead for Onwenu)
RT: JBB/Runyan, then Ulizio
Defense:
DE: Gary/Kemp (Gary owns it; Kemp is a stud!)
NT: Mone/Solomon (Mone leads)
DT: Hurst/Dwumfour (high praise for Dwumfour, but behind a star)
DE: Winovich/Jeter (All Chase)
LB: McCray (fantastic leader and excellent fall camp)
LB: Bush (Huge hitter)
CB: Hill (host of others; thin lead)
CB: Long
S: Kinnel
S: Metellus
Viper: Hudson (zero competition)
Lots of talk about Collins in the top 5 at WR. Watson and Thomas pushing the CB?s
Nate Johnson will be a return specialist.
McDoom is losing ground to the Fr
High praise for Dwumfour, Solomon, and Jeter.
Speight lost some ground to Peters after evaluating week one.
Exit PWO Simeon Smith
Higdon may steal RB1
No worries in the kicking game; figuring out the return men a priority (Johnson will return punts)
Don?t sleep on Furbush or Woods to see plenty of action.
These notes are not from a talking head/media member. It's someone connected who gives the updates to the guy who runs Touch the Banner.
I got ya. I'm super excited too, but still really worried about the o-line. C, RG, and RT are big question marks.Yeah, i know that. Not saying this guy is wrong, but i want to see it on the field. I do love the notes, of course, but September can not come soon enough.

according to mgoblue, Evans has one inch and 11 lbs on Higdon, but they still have last year's roster up.
was gonna say Kugler shouldn't be as much of a ?, but he's only played in 9 games in 3 years, with one start (Hawaii). I thought he had a lot more PT than that. he did get some snaps at C last year, but against Rutgers and Illinois.
That's better than nothing I guess.
I would be more worried if we weren't hearing about Ruiz pushing. We already know that Kugler isn't a world beater, so it was unlikely that he was going to run away with it. We may or may not need Ruiz to be a contributor this year, but he pretty much has to start next season. If he's truly giving Kugler a run I think that's more likely a good thing than bad.
