Preseason Game 3: Jaguars @ Lions

The way I look at it, you can blame the players - which the GM gets. Or blame the coach in which the GM hires. Or you can blame the owner who hires the GM. Combination of Ford and Mayhew..

I know some will differ but not being able to franchise Suh is all on GM. It was a big fk up.

Who cares though? What do we want, one more year of an unhappy Suh? Has any player ever been happy with being tagged? Seems to me it causes more problems than it does good.

Let him walk if he's going to walk. Let's rip the bandaid off, not peel it slowly.

Usually when teams rip the bandaid off they get something in return. This is twice that mayhew mismanaged contracts where we lose a productive player and get nothing in return (Avril). Mayhew doesnt collect enough productive players where he can afford to lose the few he does have.

Was going to mention the Pettigrew - Ebron plan. The Suh thing is a complete joke, only a Lions fan could placate himself with cap space. What did they get for a franchised Revis? A 2nd? And add Leshoure as another f'up he's kept around. If that dude doesn't get cut it's fetish city.

So, if other teams need holes filled and they fill them, their GM is a genius? We sign guys or even God forbid draft someone, Mayhew is a fuck up? What a joke.

And Pettigrew's deal is real friendly. He could be released next year with zero against the cap. Great deal. Mayhew isn't dumb on this one. It's actually quite smart. Sorry you don't understand.

I'll copy and paste some pre draft threads where you say the exact opposite if you need me to. ..

Just because it gave you options..I'm all for moving on without Suh but an option to keep him and move in to a new DT a bit more slowly.

Either way, Mayhew is a big fk up which was pretty much what I wanted to make clear. And maybe out cap hit, after he's gone, would be lower.

Big name free agents hit the market every single year. From what I see, usually team's don't get anything in return.

Can you give some examples? I'm not saying it ain't true, but of someone who was a multiple all pro leaving for nothing after their rookie deal? Add to that as well was the team better for the loss? That seems like the premise. We are better without him or at the very least it doesn't matter if he leaves for diddly squat.

And not directing this to you Ink, but in general it isn't 20 mil freed up. I think there is about 9 mil in dead money next year and minus the salary you are going to be paying his replacement which will cost at least a few mil. Also that replacement is going to be CJ Mosely.

Mayhews fault he has to try 4 times at every position before he gets one right.....but ur too stubborn and blind to comprehend. Good job homer...

4 times at every position? Proves how much of a fn retard you truly are...lmfao

They will get something in return. It's called cap space. Something you bitch about constantly. Think before you type, genius...

I guess Jarius Byrd fits the bill. Not sure the Bills are better off with their cap space reward though.

We lost a potential Hall of Famer but hey we got cap space is like saying you totalled your Ferrari and now you have to take the bus but at least you don't have to keep paying your insurance bill.

I know!! You think i want him gone? Hell no!! But i'm at peace with it now. Put it this way...i expect it. It's going to happen. I hope i'm wrong, but i don't think i am. He does not want to be here. I know it, you know it, we all fn know it. He leaves, we have some cap space....end of story.

Even if he did want to be here with the way they have structured his salary any agent worth his salt would be fired if he didn't get anywhere north of $100 mil. That what he stands to gain by hitting free agency - it only takes one Dan Snyder. So it doesn't matter if he wants to be here or not it's purely financial at this point. The only leverage that works is the franchise tag and that's gone. And for every example of it not working like Ink said, there is an example of a player signing because of it. Most recently Jimmy Graham. I'd take the Mayhew is great arguments more seriously if his proponents didn't LKP everyone of his f'ups.

Financial my ass. All the reports were that the money was right. It was the ins and outs of his contract that were delaying the deal. He never wanted to be here from day 1.

Oh, and he's not getting over 100MIL. Cmon. I'll gladly eat crow if he does
