Down the stretch we get Don Kelly starting at 1st tonight and Prince at DH. So from DFA’d for starting at first in the middle of a pennant push?


Hell I"m surprised Santiago isn't getting a start at SS also, Does smokey understand this is a pennant race? You really do have to wonder sometimes don't ya? hell why we're at it how come Raburn hasn't gotten a start at 2nd, LF or RF yet? WTF!

He wanted to give Prince a game at DH....and I expect Cabrera will get one this week also.
the small sample is just that, and Peralta is 1 for 10, Santiago 1 for 11, iirc Avila 3 for 15.
hope for the best, Kelly comes through and Leyland cries again saying that's special about Kelly getting an rbi hit or something.

I do hope he does well don't get me wrong, it would be wonderful if he did but I don't expect that. Just surprising to see a guy that was DFA'd not long ago getting so much playing time in the final stretch of a pennant race is all. So prince needs a day off from 1st and Delmon gets pushed out of the lineup, I don't care what the numbers are Delmon is one of the hottest hitters on the team right now granted yesterday looked horrible let's take that hot bat out of the lineup.

I know, I know, just like yesterday with Jackson.
don't want to cause a crap storm, but as hot as Delmon has been recently, the swing is the same, going for low stuff, he has connected on some, but is still missing his share.
We're going to deal with this to the end of the year, imo. Just a 3/4 starters not hitting for awhile, and the bench has been kind of fugly.
If more of the players looked for a pitch in a certain zone and went to that field instead of trying to crush everything they swing at, just maybe there would be more contact hits.

We just want to win the div again Jim, expect the best hitters to be in the lineup everyday with only 28 games to go and behind by 1, maybe if we clinch before Oct we can get some guys some playing time then. naww still plenty of time left i'm sure right. it's only 1 game and we still got 28 more to go man, plenty of time!

Kelly is not a player who it going to lose a game for you, and he did not lose last night's game. I've no beef with him playing last night. He was DFAd in a numbers conflict, and not because he was Brandon Inge. Sure, he's marginal, but what team does not have a Don Kelly on its roster?

it isn't Prince not playing 1st, it's one more easy ****ing out in the lineup, why not play Beast at 1st for a game and put Santiago or somebody that resembles a hitter at 3rd.Kelly shouldn't ever be in a MLB uniform regardless if he has 25 gold gloves in every position.

If he has "25 gold gloves," then he's also a proven hitter as well as a leatherman, based on the way that players are selected.
