Raburn is back

He's not even hitting .200 in AAA. I just don't get this? And I thought Ramon looked good at the plate the past few weeks. No, he is not a everyday player, but neither is Raburn.

Detroit Tigers will not be able to send Ryan Raburn to minors without his permission once he spends six more days in majors.
from Mlive

player is credited with a year of service time for every 172 days in the majors. Prior to being recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Thursday, Raburn had four years and 165 day of service time.
Thursday added one more day to that total, which leaves Raburn needing just six more.

fly in the ointment?
More Raburn: RR was outrighted on 12/5/05, can't be outrighted again w/o consent even if he cleared waivers. from Tigerdog.

Sounds like Raburn is staying and they will platoon him mostly verses LHP for awhile like they did for a month last year after the break..

Who goes when Dirks comes back? Hopefully its Raburn. Berry should stay over Kelly imo.

Hopefully Young.

I agree Berry should stay, but it's not likely Kelly gets sent packing, and he has more value than people think because of his versatility. He does not have a great bat, but he's not on the team for his bat.

Putting the roster together but I can't imagine DD has any input on whether Raburn comes back up or not.

Then you have not the foggiest idea how a major league club works.

DD decides the roster. 100%.

He may ask Leyland for his opinions, but Dave Dombrowski is the guy who calls players up, sends them down, and or DFA's them.

Raburn came up because DD called him up, not Leyland.

I don't believe it. I might have spoken out of turn but if "may" ask for his opinion, what's the point of having a manager? IMO, Leyland knows more about Raburn than DD does. Maybe it does happen that way but it makes no sense.

"Smokes" has nothing to do with the roster...

Yeah, you're right. He's only the fn manager for fuck sakes...lol. Listen, i know there are scouts and DD who put out this roster year in and year out but we all know the hard-on Leyland has for some guys. Remember Inge? Yeah, put Raburn on that list as well.

Leyland is a fn joke....end of story.
