Rangers @ Tigers 5-8-2016 Game 30

STREAKS AND STATS:
Justin Verlander's strikeout of Rougned Odor in the third inning was the 1,980th strikeout of his career, tying with Jack Morris for second in club history. Mickey Lolich leads the team, with 2,679 strikeouts. Verlander later passed that total, taking over sole occupancy of second place with a strikeout of Prince Fielder in the fourth inning.

The Tigers' losing streak is now at six games.

The last time the Tigers bullpen gave up eight runs was Sept. 3, 2015 on a 15-7 drubbing by the Royals.

Don't worry, all is better. Tyler Collins is back up!!!! The season is saved!!!!

Well the hot garbage dumpster fire drops another one, shocking.. Tough road series next I'll be surprised if they manage to win a single one

This team is really bad

Ausmus "I understand that I'm in the cross hairs, but its not going to change the way I do anything"

Here's your sign.

VMart "He's not the one who went out there and played," Martinez said. "It was our fault. It's easy to blame the manager for this and that. We're the ones who have been horse(expletive).

Vmart "We have a lot of expectations. You think the fans are going to feel as bad as we feel? With all due respect, I don't think so"

I'm not sure if I get what that is supposed to mean, take charge victor, get everyone's focus up..motivate! You can see the focused anger, desire, what ever you want to call it in victors eyes every time he steps to the plate, I don't see it with most everyone else

Ok now seeing the rest of it I have a better idea of what he was saying.

"You think the fans are going to feel as bad we feel? With all due respect, I don't think so," Victor Martinez said. "We want to go out there and play good baseball. We want to go out there and get an RBI, get a hit. A lot of times, that can work against you. And I understand that.

"People spend a lot of money to come watch a baseball game, I understand that and I get it. But if somebody really thinks that we want to go out there and just go through the motions, you're thinking wrong."

The Tigers want a clutch hit so badly, Ausmus admits they've been pressing, trying too hard. It's why he cancelled batting practice on Saturday. Trying to get a hit has been all they've been focused on, so he wanted to them to think about it a little less.

In some ways almost feels like subtle jabs at fans, whether it's stuff like the Lions and Tate last year to Collins flipping off the crowd, (ok that one not so subtle) now Victor seems to want to take a little quasi shot every now and then I think. I get that... yet at the same time, by the end of the day it's about you guys proving it to yourself, How to not press, it's a mindset. Victor knows the mindset, I can see it in his demeanor, others do not have it. I'm not sure if it's something you can learn or not, I think victor would make a good leader though.

Ok then fire Avila .. I just don't give a shit this team is just so damn boring to watch..Glad Victor has a spark but whoopty Doo.

They get paid millions and millions of dollars. I am sure most of us don't feel good when we under perform at work. If it is a service area job, I am sure we don't say that we feel worse than our customers. It may or may not be the case, but you shouldn't express it verbally.

If anyone had told me before the season started, that Castellanos would be leading the AL in BAVG the 2nd week of May, I would have thought the Tigers were at the top or near the top because of it. That isn't the case.

Offensive Rankings:

C = 5th
1B = 2nd
2B = 7th
SS = 14th
3B = 2nd
LF = 13th
CF = 14th
RF = 10th
DH = 4th

Infield = 4th
Outfield = 15th

We have no replacement/options for the OF. We have what we have. That is over $37 Mil spent out there. Over $71 Mil on starting pitching. If the players feel bad, why not return some of their salaries. And if not that, why not donate back to the area to make up for it. Actions speak louder than words sometimes.

Yod expect the corner of spots to get closer to their historical norms and regression from 3b and catcher. We do have Maybin returning soon, nobody will confuse him with Andrew McCutchen but I'd think a maybin/Gose platoon would produce a little more.

I'd also love to swap Iglesias with machado at some point. .269 slugging is beyond abysmal no matter how good he is defensively
