Get StartedCaldwell said there wouldn't be discipline.
So he sends Mosley home for the weed, but Raiola potentially ruining a guy's career with a ridiculous play is nothing.
I am sure I am gonna get ripped for this....
I kind of see where Raiola is coming from here. First of all, the play was not more than 5 yards from the line, so it's a legal play. I don't see where the NFL can do a damned thing to be honest.
But Raiola is correct when he says they wanted to run up the score when they could have taken that knee... okay, we're here to play football, let's play to the final whistle.
I don't agree with trying to hurt someone, but in football any play, any time, someone can get hurt. When you're leading with the lead the Pats had, and you go down for one more score inside 2 minutes after a first down... you are risking any of your guys and any of their guys being hurt badly, for what? It's already a blowout.
The Pats have been called out by every team they face for running it up. Raiola made the choice to go along with their own game plan and play it out.
Was it out of anger? Yes. Was it dirty? Yes. Would I have asked for one of my players to potentially hurt someone with malicious intent? No.
But do I see where he's coming from? Hard not to.
2 minutes left, with Detroit TO's. No need to knee it..
No one would ..
If you are going to put on the afterburners and play football for your last series when you have a three TD+ lead in the final two, you can't complain when the other team decides to do the same.
The Pats put their foot on our throats. They can't complain the Raiola decided to go down swinging.
It's the same old shit with Bellicheck. "We're going to run up the score and when we give you the ball back, we expect you to know you're beaten and take a knee".
Fuck that. Hit someone. I really wish Raiola wouldn't have gone for the cut, but had he smashed the nose tackle for his troubles... I'd have cheered my ass off.
The problem with the play wasn't that it happened at all, it was that he didn't go face to face, nose to nose, and smash someone like a man. Send that message the right way, knock a guy on his ass or knock him out.. but don't be a cheap bitch about it.

So they take knees, TO could be called and they K a FG? Or just say "here, have it?" Remember they kicked a FG, we made a stupid penalty.
9 of 10 teams won't knee at the 2 with 2 minutes left. Maybe if they didn't get in I suspect the knee would have happened.
Legal by Crayola but bush.

I agree.. total bush league bullshit.
But I do think he should have come big like a man and planted someone on their ass right there.
If the Pats want to play full go to the end, then play full go. I'm telling you, I've seen this crap before... Belichick wants to play it out while he has the ball, and will cry about hits when the losing team gets it back... cause they should have just rolled over and died.
I want to see every team start going after the Pats all the way to the end. I don't disrespect them for scoring.. it's football... you play to win, and ot win big. But that highway runs north and south both.

Apparently 4 cheap shots in the final 2 minutes:
