Say what you will about his injuries, but I was very high on this guy's talent two years ago, as some of you probably remember. I wanted the Lions to take him in the first round.

He's been cut by the Pats, and I'd still like to see the Lions bring him in. His injuries are a concern, and he's played in the wrong system when healthy, but take a flyer and see what happens.

Given some of the other misfits we've brought in at CB the last few years, this couldn't be any worse.

Cut one of those scrubs in the d backfield and let him sit until healthy. You know someone else back there will without half the amount of talent.

He has less than four years in the league, which means he's waiver wire material. Not an unrestricted free agent.

So there are really only a handful of teams that can claim him ahead of us, since it's based on last year's schedule.

I believe the Chiefs and Jags are ahead of us based on standing, and then I am not sure how teams like the Eagles factor in.

But if the Lions want him, they have an easier path than most teams.

I would imagine though, being a 2nd round pick, no one will claim him, so they avoid paying the larger contract. Teams will just try to negotiate if interested.

Those Patriots sure can draft. Took a risk on an injury prone player in Round 2. Now who would ever do that.

the Pats are loaded with talent and every year have extra draft picks due to wisely trading down. When you do that you can take the risk on a player. When you are the Lions who are not loaded with talent and rarely trade down to acquire extra 2nd round picks you can not afford to take huge risks. Look at the 49ers. They are loaded with talent so they had the luxury of taking Marcus Lattimore in the 4th round last year. Could turn out to be a brilliant move since he has 1st round talent.

The Lions are loaded with talent. More than the Pats

Now I have heard it all. The Pats who are perenial SB contenders and almost always win 10+ games have less talent than the Lions!

They play in a shit division. Lions win that division every year from 2010 on with the talent Mayhew has brought in.

Lions are a very very talented team. You'll see in 2013.

right....a 4-12 team wins the AFC east last year.

They wouldn't be 4-12. They would be 6-0 in the division not 0-6

And it was turnovers that were the problem. That will be fixed easily. The coaching is fine.

So suddenly the Lions would have beaten the Pats twice in 2012? They got creamed by the freakin' Cardinals..

Funny, I recall the Lions getting beat pretty handidly by that Pats team that had so little talent and worse coaches.

LKP, get the fuck out of here with your retarded bullshit. According to you the Lions would be undefeated every year if not for a few bad breaks, some turnovers that THIS year will not happen, a couple bad penalties, unfortunate injuries and a bajillion other excuses. You know how excuses are like assholes, right...well that definitely means LKP has a bajillion of them.

Now go and report me to the Mods for saying it like it is.

2010 and 2011 the Lions had positive turnover differential. It is far from retarded bullshit. I'm the only knowledgable one of Lions history it seems.

The Lions team without Stafford in 2010. This is a completely different Lions team since then and we'll find out next season.

I didn't say the Pats had little talent, I just said the Lions had more :)

Now back to me wiping the floor with you :)

Hey slick, Lions replacing the Pats in the division. Beating the Jets twice, Bills twice and Dolphins twice. I say hell yes. But thanks for playing.

And I'm not a homer. I'm optimistic because I actually understand what happened last year and how they addressed their weaknesses. Plus the turnovers will be fixed easily.
