Ras-I Dowling

And I'm not a homer. I'm optimistic because I actually understand what happened last year and how they addressed their weaknesses. Plus the turnovers will be fixed easily.

If they were so easy to fix why didn't they fix them last year?

It wasn't one player over and over. Logan is gone, Stafford will be in better game situations with hopefully starting WRs running the correct routes, LeShoure and Bell and Pettgirew and Calvin had 3, 2, 2, and 3 respectively, losing every single one of them. That kind of bad luck just won't happen again. You replay 2012 with the same team, they don't have 33 turnovers. They are talented and can protect the ball 10 more times or at least recovery some fumbles they lose. The 2010 squad had 25 turnovers, 2011 23. Pettgirew has never lost a fumble before in his career, Calvin has never lost 3, LeShoure and Bell won't losee 100% of hte balls they put on the ground plus they have Bush if you don't like LeShoure's 3 fumble lost ball security for 200 carries.

Read this and then get back to me with a better attitude.

They did have a shit ton of turnovers and didn't get many. That comes from lack of discipline more than bad luck.

It's not lack of discipline. Lack of concentration by a talented player or just trying to do too much (some of the ints/fumbles). Or just sucking, Logan. Not lack of disicpline or coaching and some bad luck on the recoveries.

The Lions coaches teach them ball security properly I assure you.

People just use buzz words fed by the media for this stuff. Just watch the games and the plays and describe how a fumlbe happened. Leshoure baltting for extra yards against the Bears, Bell having a mental breakdown and jumping way too early and sticking the ball out, Pettigrew getting hit by two people as he turns at the same time against the Texans, Idonije splitting a double team for Raiola/Peteram and creaming Stafford for a fumble, Logan muffing punts he should easily catch.. You can't just say discipline that the coaches taught them poor ball security. That is not properly analyzing what happened.

that IS lack of discipline!

That is not a lack of discipline. It's a momentary lack of concentration and IT IS NOT THE COACHES FAULT. Blaming the coaching other than scheme turnovers is beyond dumb.

But continue to use your buzz words fed by the media on what they think is happening and I'll continue to watch the games and know what is happening.

lack of concentration and trying to do too much is lack of discipline. It is not 100% on the coaches but some of the blame does belong to the coaching staff. This team seems to be one of the most peanalized team, a sloppy team and last year a shit ton of turn overs. A lot of that has to do with LACK OF DISCIPLINE which is partially due to poor coaching.

Those Patriots sure can draft. Took a risk on an injury prone player in Round 2. Now who would ever do that.

1) They had a 7th round pick in Dennard start for them at CB last year and play very well

2) They can afford to take injury risk type players...because they are good and they have time for those guys to develop. We need guys that can contribute since mayhew has so many holes on this team every off season.

3) our 2nd round picks havent done anything since 1992.

It is not poor coaching. Talent players can have mental lapses with good coaching.

Dennard is a character risk and still gets in trouble. I'll take Slay or even Mathis over him.
Lions can afford to take risks too. They are more talented than the Pats.
Delmas, Best when he played, Broyles did produce and so could Slay.

cause we dont have character risk guys? Suh stomps on people and cant drive a car under 100 mph

... wow ... pats are more talented at basically ever facet of the game..including coaching, upp mgmt, GM.

oh you mean Bob Sanders, mush brain and that guy they keep showing jogging in a pool?...ya ton of production there.

One of these days we're actually going to have a thread on this board where people can discuss the topic of the thread without it turning into a "we suck" "no we don't" argument...

...but I don't expect it any time soon.

You have two people that have POLAR OPPOSITE opinions and both need to get the last word in.

It's just the same argument again and again on different threads.

How does he get cut but tebow still has a job?

Depth.

No team has that many QBs, but CBs that haven't produced are a dime a dozen.

Ras-I played in 9 games in two years. They have some good corners (but no great ones) ahead of him on the depth chart, so they shed the guaranteed money.

Tebow has no guaranteed dollars at stake.
