Ray Rice knocked fiancee out

He lied which is why the nfl suspended him indefinitely and bal cut him. The story was always that she provoked it. ... which is obviously not the case. Why Would you lie when you know there's cameras everywhere. Ignorant. ..

In the other thread Ink said that the NFL and Ravens saw this video prior to the 2 game suspension. If that is the case they "have some explaining to do!"

Yep.

The casino where this happened is now permanently closed. The former employee, who was a security office with the casino, says he provided the tape to the NFL and the Ravens. Since they failed to act,and now that the casino is closed and it's not a job breach, he turned it over to TMZ as well.

If that is indeed accurate, then the NFL and the Ravens saw this tape, and still handed down a two game suspension. Their narrative didn't change until the public saw this tape, and then it was the most heinous of crimes, but before that, eh... oh well, right?

That's why I am angry about it. Two games. 16 games. 48 games. It doesn't matter because it's never going to be just punishment for what he did. It's the fact that they saw this as a two game crime until the public saw the brutality that they saw.. and THEN it was much more serious.

Thats the way the world used to be. It was okay to abuse your wife and kids, so long as it wasn't in public.

Well said Ink. And that's my point. What changed? We knew he punched her and knocked her out all along. But now the tape surfaces and suddenly it's way worse? Nothing changed. We've known for months he punched his now wife in the face and knocked her out. If they had and saw that tape Roger G should resign.

They are both saying they never saw it. ... that only the federal prosecutor had it and would not release it.

Don't kid yourself...that casino security guy sold it to TMZ. I doubt that the NFL and their $1000 per hour lawyers were dumb enough to think IF they did see the tape that it wouldn't leak out. Until proven otherwise I will believe the NFL over the security guy that sold the tape to TMZ.

ya its all a big cover up by the nfl to protect ray frikken rice of all people. no way in hell the nfl would put themselves into danger like that to protect ...ray....rice....

its consistent with everything out of Baltimore too....cant imagine the dumb would trickle all the way down from goodell to bal owners to john harbaugh where they would ALL lie no cover up some chick getting her ass beat by a running back.

Another reason why Goodell needs to get run out of town.

From ESPN article.

In a statement Tuesday, the NFL said, "Security for Atlantic City casinos is handled by the New Jersey State Police. Any videos related to an ongoing criminal investigation are held in the custody of the state police. As we said yesterday: We requested from law enforcement any and all information about the incident, including the video from inside the elevator. That video was not made available to us."

The Ravens said Monday that they never saw the new video released Monday by TMZ Sports, either. Asked why the team wasn't able to view the video sooner, head coach John Harbaugh told reporters at a Monday night news conference: "I don't know why that would be a hard thing to understand. It wasn't available. It wasn't there for us. It wasn't something that we ever saw or had access to."

The Associated Press reported Monday night that it had viewed a higher-quality video provided by a law enforcement official, and that Rice and Palmer could be heard shouting obscenities at each other. According to the AP, after she collapses, he drags her out of the elevator and is met by some hotel staff. One of them can be heard saying, "She's drunk, right?" And then, "No cops." Rice doesn't respond.

See it or not it doesn't really matter..anyone with a brain could tell what happened. She walks to the elevator and suddenly is dragged out..

It's all bullshit.

I would atleast be on the side of the argument that ray rice doesn't deserve to lose his career IFFFFFF in the elevator his wife started beating on him first. That was the story all along....and why she was at all the press conferences apologizing for her part in it.....cause apparently she caused it, right? The video obviously disproves all of that which is why BAL and the NFL changed their decisions. Why the hell the prosecutor didn't throw his ass in jail is still the real story here. IFFFFF what the NFL says is true and they didn't see the video, than I have no problem with the way they handled giving out the punishment other than 2 games wasn't enough.

Overall though the NFL handled everything inappropriately...from having her be at the press conference, to the bal ravens site putting up quotes that she was in the wrong, the 2 games thingy and now making her the story yet again.....

to summarize....in response to your comment....for me atleast....hell yes it mattered that we saw that video. It proved everything that was stated previous was false.
