Ray Rice- Released

Wonder if it has anything to do with TMZ releasing the video in the elevator of him actually knocking her out

I would say it has everything to do with that video being released.

The part that pisses me off is that the NFL saw this video four months ago. The Ravens saw it four months ago. But now it's "new evidence" and he's banned.

So essentially the NFL doesn't give a rats ass about domestic violence, unless the public sees it... then it's lifetime ban worthy.

I want Goodell to resign after this. He is a serious fucking douche.

Ray Rice will sue, and his ban will be overturned because you can't punish a guy twice for the same thing, and even under the league's new rules for domestic, it would be a six game ban.

And I hope there is a new commish who makes him spend five minutes in an elevator with Ray Lewis before he can play again.

He isn't getting punished for the same thing twice. The Ravens have the right to cut him at any point for any reason. He will still get paid any portion of his contract that he has coming to him that is guaranteed and he is free to sign with any team after his suspension is over. Of course...no team will sign him...MAYBE next year if he does some serious damage control.

No disagreement. The Ravens can flat out cut him

But his suspension has been escalated from 2 games, to indefinite. That't the part he will easily have overturned.

It's no secret he met with the NFL during the last days of his suspension. He helped negotiate the terms... two games, anger management, counselling, etc... Same type of shit a guy would negotiate with a DA in this case.

And now the NFL suspends him for longer? Not going to work legally. They had an agreement, and they can't change the terms just because a video comes out.

He will win any lawsuit against the NFL. He won't be a Raven anymore, or a member of any team this year like you said, but if he never plays again, it's because of PR, not a ban.

well, if the NFL didn't actually see the video and he wasn't 100% honest about what happened in that video they probably have the right to suspend him indefinitely. That could be part of any "plea deal"

of course if that is the case and the NFL didn't see the video why didn't they pursue it? The have more power than TMZ...if they wanted to see that video they could have seen it.

According the to story on TMZ, the guy that gave them the video also provided it to the NFL and the Ravens four months ago, and they watched it.

If that is true that is no good for the NFL or the Ravens.

Ya so now the nfl is lying? This is gonna get ugly. ...

They clearly said they didn't see that video in all the reports I saw this morning. goodell fired next?

You are correct... in every report this morning it was "new evidence" or "in light of this new tape"...

But the casino security worker who provided the tape, and WAS a part of the investigation says otherwise.

I'm thinking the NFL is lying. They knew he knocked her out. That was no secret, so why does seeing the tape suddenly change things?

It doesn't. The public seeing the tape changes things.

The casino security worker who sold the tape to TMZ...I will probably believe the NFL on this one for now.

ill say it again..theres no way john harbaugh, the ravens and the NFL risk anything for some random rb that obviously knocked the F out of his gf. They have no reason to lie and they ALL know that they would eventually get caught in the lie if the video truly was out there. The second the nfl saw that video theyd be like "yup, throw that dude away and lose the key"

This whole thing is ridiculous to me.

The NFL initially suspends him two games. Everyone believes it was far to light a punishment. Goodell then amends the policy to say domestic abuse = 6 games. Reasonable, everyone's happy.

Now, because there is video evidence of what happened, Rice is suspended indefinitely? What did everyone think happened in that elevator?

He should be eligible to sign with another team and play in week 7. The lone bright spot is if the NFL and Goodell are caught in a lie here, maybe that's the end of Goodell.

AP just reportedat the prosecutor's office sent the NFL a copy of the video tape in April. NFL is f****ed.
