Romney's campaign gets "cool" with their new smartphone app

What you are saying is also not necessarily blasphemy - it just gives more deference to the secular aspect of it rather than the divine. It all has its place.

Question for you: Is it more important to be a good person (with all of the things "good" implies), or more important to be a good Christian? Are they mutually exclusive for you, or basically the same thing?

I'm not a Christian so I don't know what "being a good Christian" is supposed to be or is supposed to mean.

As far as being a good person, almost everybody you ask is gonna think of themselves as being a good person, right?

tinsel, you should found a religion. I bet it would be pretty popular. and given your laid-back philosophy, I can see it being less harmful than some of the real guilt-inducing aspects of catholicism, or the self-denial and exclusiveness of some of the others. certainly, you are no less justified in doing so than any other founder of any other religion.

I'm afraid somebody has beaten me to it.

I'm not sure. I think deep down in a secret part of their hearts they never talk about, buckeyes know they are actual bad eggs. It's the reason they choose to be buckeyes.

OK, I didn't mean "are you a good person?" I meant is it more important to be a good person, or considered good in a more spiritual way? More important to follow the golden rule (do unto others), or follow the letter of the law, 10 commandment style.

FYI "10 commandment style" is a euphemism for something like "I am being a good moral person because I am following the law" - I wasn't saying that you would specifically follow the commandments.

Anyway, I was just curious - I would never judge you one way or the other, and there is no answer in my mind that would paint you or anyone else in a negative light based on the answer.

I got a little distracted when I misread "commandment style" as "commando style."

I think it's important for citizens to follow the laws of the country; there are a lot of laws relating to limitations of personal freedoms that I don't agree with, but I think citizens should obey laws they don't agree with while they try to get them changed.

I choose to deal with people who expect to be treated better than they treat other people as little as I possibly can.

Ha, ha...I treat my dogs really good...people who know me have said "in my next life, I wanna come back as one of your dog..."

Good point. I just wanted to make the Schembechler reference. I bet Bo was actually good to dogs too.

I treat my my dog well enough, but I can't keep up with my mother-in-law. She spoils him (no grandchildren.) He gets packages of homemade dog treats on holidays, even holidays like St. Patrick's Day and Independence Day. She flew here from Michigan to watch him once when we went on vacation. Did you know Omaha Steaks makes dog treats? My dog knows.

Did she feed him that Dogfishhead Beer?

Nope. He got this instead. http://bowserbeer.com/

Excuse me...tap water with bullion in it at a 15,000 times mark up, thank you very much.

Sure, whatever you're the scientist...15,000, 20,0000 whatever....just wish I had beaten to the creator of of the product to the drop. Oh well. Crap happens. The Detroit Tigers won tonight, anyway.

Well...ideas are cheap. It's the execution that's tough (no engineer wants to believe that, but it's the truth.) If I give you the next million dollar idea will you look me up and share the love? (Not saying I have an idea in mind, but if I've got a do-er on the hook I might come up with something.)
