Ronald Reagan

We're talking about trends over decades. If that's funny in the context of your own experience under Carter's administration, feel free to share. Otherwise you're just publicly laughing over an inside joke.

...or are you trying to say 20% interest rates and double digit inflation are a good thing?

I've noticed that the intelligent and thoughtful and learned conservatives on this board rarely bother responding to that guy.

Obviously they've come to view him as as much of a goofball as everybody else.

I go though periods of ignoring and replying. Maybe I'm inconsistently intelligent. If so, I'll take it!

then how do you explain more recent history?

It's the same as drilling holes all over the place in a lame attempt to keep gasoline at some predestined price, based on consumption rates of 30yrs ago ... only to have that last for about 20 minutes.

Funny how when concepts go beyond trite phrases that would fit on a bumpersticker, thee smith is lost and in over his head.

I see what you did there...

..."superflous" is how it's pronounce at NASCAR events (popular, or course, with fans of Kid Rock), whenever that word is invoked at on such occasions...

I got it, if nobody else did...

Red has probably heard it pronounced that way, at the various NASCAR events he likely attends, living there in the south, and what all, but politely refrained from responding in the unlikely event that it was an inadvertant typo...

...but I know better...

I will give an illustration:

"I do not git all them Go Daddy logos on that thar girl's green car. At a certain point in time, the rist of them Go Daddy logos just become superflous."

Oh, I'm familiar too. I wouldn't have made the connection without the proper numbers of e's.

Now in fairness, byco, they never talk about the out of control spending by the Bush Administration on Fox News.
