Say...

Dusty was tonight as well. Nothing like back in the day but I still watch it now and again, his son Cody Rhodes is a good wrestler.

Ya that's why he's been on. Hhh fired cody so golddust and dusty have been trying to get his job back.

I saw an interview with Winnie (Danica Mckellar)recently and she is still hot as hell. She is some math wiz who has actually written books to teach math to girls. Also divorced I believe. Someone was a complete idiot to divorce her.

She's probably crazy.

Side edit: After doing a little research, yeah, she's crazy. No chick is worth that.

KC - I can't speak for anyone else, but I am an old school wrestling fan...not much into it now, but from the time that I understood what it was up until the early to mid 90's I was a junkie. WWF, NWA/WCW, AWA, WCCW, UWF, etc. Hell I even watched GLOW. I like that shit so much that when I had cable instead of satellite, there was a WWE Classics channel that I subscribed to.

Your avatar!! Rey Mysterioso??

I watched and laughed my ass off from the 1950's to oh probably 20 years ago, at that time, it just got to be too much of a soap opera different channels and time slots, and imo way more BS than ever before.
I loved it though from way back, always knew it was entertainment first.

Favorites all time were Killer Kowalski, Don Leo Jonathan, George 'The Animal' Steele, Nikolai Volkoff, Superstar Billy Graham, The original Sheik, The Iron Sheik, probably a few more...
I liked watching the bad guys....they always put on a good show.

Tag Teams; The Executioners--one was Kowalski, The Valiant Brothers, The Bushwhackers, and the three managers, The Grand Wizard aka Ernie Roth, 'Classy' Freddie Blassie, and 'The Maker and Breaker of Tag Team Champions' Captain Lou Albano.

sorry to any for the slight hijack of the original topic,

idk if I will be around for the Lions Winning a SuperBowl, (I remember the last NFL Title in '57 along with old Tiggs95) and sure hope it happens in next few years with this core group on the team, otherwise I hope all you guys see it and make the board implode with all the posts. If I don't make it, host an adult beverage in my memory when they win.

I don't watch pro wrestling, so I have no idea what you guys are talking about. But my cousin was a pretty big deal in wrestling in the 70's and early 80's I think, not that anyone would remember him now.

I barely do. But I guess he was a name back then.

Actually the avatar is Dusty Rhodes as the Midnight Rider. I don't remember specifics anymore, but Dusty was banned from the NWA and upon his suspension/banning the Midnight Rider mysteriously appeared and bore a strong resemblance to Dusty, man boobs included. After he was allowed back in the Midnight Rider was not heard from again.

I lost interest for much of the same reason, but still love reliving the past. There were some characters over the years, Macho Man probably being my one of my favs. From your time KC, my old man was a huge Kowalski fan too and also loved the Dick The Bruiser.

I hope you get to see a Lions Super Bowl win too, but rest assured I will hoist adult beverages in your honor for that along with any significant Tiger moments. Puff a cigar for you too!

Yeah ink...how can you tantalize us with such info, but not give us anything to go on?

My favorite as a mere child..

That's Dusty Rhodes? I was out of the wrestling loop before that.
Yes another from back then was Dick the Bruiser, Bill or Dick Afflis, iirc an ex-football player like Ernie Ladd, who would poke his huge and wrapped in-tape thumb into Bruno Sammartino's eye or throat, lol.
Sound like your dad and I are similar age. Ask him if he remembers when Kowaslki first started as a clean wrestler known as Tarzan Kowalski, He did the knee drop off the top rope onto Yukon Eric's ear and the ear flopped off, and then the Killer name started.
He used to leap off the top rope on to Pepper Gomez's alleged 'cast iron stomach' ......you know like doing 5000 situps a day, and instead knee dropped his throat.

and Thanks for the promise of a toast and cigar in my memory.
Probably some on the boards and real life that would like for my demise to happen yesterday. lol.

Well that's definitely Tommy Rich....I'll be damned Sir biggunsbob is related to Sir Francis Drake and ink's family with Tommy Rich. I wonder if anyone else on here has famous blood?

Bro, I don't know if you could ever call Tommy "famous" but I'm pretty sure he doesn't count now.

Last time I saw him he looked like he swallowed Louie Anderson hole and smelled like he had been swimming at Mr. Jim Beam's house, but was still a hell of a funny dude and fun to be around.

I'll be sure to ask Pops...we're actually making a pilgrimage back to Michigan in about two weeks so we'll have plenty of time to talk.

Let's make sure that we're not toasting to your memory anytime soon...and for those that want your demise...they don't know class when they see it!

Dick the Bruiser I have heard of vaguely.

In 1992 I was selling Kirby Vacuum's in Canton, Mi. While working in Detroit, I sold one to a guy who said he was a former wrestler and partner of Dick the Bruiser named Bobo Brazil.

Obviously not his real name, and I'm not even sure why I remember it, other than it being so odd.

Thats him. Haha... what a cheeseball picture. Love the guy, but haven't talked to him in more than a decade.

Where did you find that picture?

He's famous enough that when I Binged/Google him, quite a few images popped up.

Cool, famous by association Ink.
