Senators 2 Red Wings 1 Final

Tanking does no good. Ask Buffalo, tanked for years and the last 3 they we went backwards. You can get good draft picks late.. we've had many.

Penguins tanked to get Lemieux.

They gave away a Norris level d-man for almost nothing that season.

Won back to back cups in the 90s.

Buffalo has same problem as Edmonton. Insufficient D, and lack of star goalie.

Detroit didn't tank and won back to back in the 90's.

Wtf. That has to be a better attempt on a penalty shot. Missed two now.. dang.

Can’t lose to teams like this and hope to do anything. Ottawa is just not that good.

Esp with the next 3 being NJ Boston and Washington.... Be lucky to win one out of those three...

That is why they need to beat teams under .500 to be taken seriously. Beat bad teams lose to good teams. Beat a few every now and then.

Detroit is the only team in the conference to be below 500.

To quote myself :p
.560 is the new .500

League average point percentage:

2016-17: 55.9%
2015-16: 55.6%
2014-15: 56.2%
2013-14: 56.2%
2012-13: 55.6%
2011-12: 56.1%
2010-11: 56.0%

I should note 1998-9 was the last season every game was worth 2 points.
1999-2000 was the first season the OTL point was added inflating the standings.

I believe what Bob was referring to is that the club is back at 50% point share. But with today's inflated rating, 56% is the new 50%.

Well Ottawa was under .500 before the red wings played them lol..

Bunch of teams with similar records. At this point no difference between 8-9-2 and 7-7-3 and 8-8-3 and 8-7-3 etc. It's only 1 game. We're a better team than we were in the first 10.
