Shea Patterson is returning for senior season

please let him learn new plays, please let him learn new plays, please let him learn new plays

Will he be allowed to throw on more than 38% of plays or is that illegal?

Awesome. If the Wolverines are not in the playoff, he'll sit out the bowl game.

If this sport had a real postseason, this conversation and situation would have never happened.

Instead we have greed/bowl season. It's horseshit.

that is all

sorry, Bob

I’m just worried that McCaffery May transfer out. Hopefully he won’t . Seems like it is the fad nowadays when kids don’t get playing time. Plus I think he has more upside. But hey Patterson did win 10 games with one to go! Maybe Hamilton will design a better passing attack for the bowl game !!! I am so giddy with anticipation for bowl season Lol. Can you hear my sarcasm in my words for this crappy system the ncaa has ?

If you want to watch a football tournament, watch div II and div III. Or, if you don't like watching the bowl games, watch some meaningless regular season NCAA basketball games, NBA or NHL games. There are a lot of meaningless options out there.

Already did, and already do where you been LoL. I watch more meaningless games then anyone I know . Sadly the d2, and d3 are over and most of the time playing at the same time as the d1 schools so I only could keep track on the ticker . I will watch the Michigan bowl game and maybe a few others on in the 4th quarter. Not really interested in the final 4 because the four teams suck to watch ...Can’t wait for expansion so I can root for a big upset.

I doubt McCaffrey will transfer. But he and Milton may challenge for the starting role

I hope so. I guess he is unconcerned or he would not have come back to Michigan. This is a weak NFL qb draft class. I just want to see Mccaffery run the team. But whoever wins the job is the guy.

Playing to earn your way to the playoffs is meaningless? Never heard of that.

I enjoy the FCS tournament. It's a proper postseason.

Imagine eliminating March Madness, except the Final Four, and having all the other teams play corporate sponsored games. That's how ridiculously stupid the postseason for the highest level of college football is.

The only time bowl games were good is when you had to win your conference to make one. Now you just have to be 6-6. Even some 5-7 have made a bowl. It's a pitiful system.

Patterson probably had the best statistical passing season for a Michigan QB since 2007...

but let's cry

waaaaaaahhhh!

And he still can’t hit the deep ball lol..

Hey get back to me when Jim decides to develop a freshmen from year one to year four or five. Hey maybe one will stick around for 4 years . My guess one out of these three transfers out now. Peters. Milton, and or McCaffery. You don’t think Jim has more transfers then a lot of other schools ? Anyway the offense is going to be sweet next year if Black decides to stick it out at Michigan Lol! Or maybe a true freshmen will step up !!
Now that Oregon qb is coming back maybe Patterson has a big game and goes pro ! Just worried about all the transfers H. Plus I think McCaffery is better then Patterson.

If Peters wants to play QB, he’s gone. If he wants the degree and realizes the NFL isn’t realistic, he will stay.

Back in them days it was New Year?s Day Madness to a degree for the national championship.

Off the top of my head the 1983 Miami Hurricanes stunned the ?greatest team of all time? Nebraska Cornhuskers To win the national championship in the Orange bowl at the end of that season.

I would have to look it up but I am pretty certain I remember that a few teams between Miami and Nebraska lost which enabled Miami to win the title.

That?s the most top of mind case I remember but there certainly were others.

Agree. Peters is fourth on the depth chart at this point. After last year's bowl debacle, even if Patterson hadn't transferred in he would still be behind DM and Milton. If he just wants to play college football he will transfer, otherwise he rides the bench. When he had the opportunity he didn't show that he has the talent to play in the NFL, or CFL for that matter.

That year the rankings leading into the Bowl game were
1. Nebraska
2. Texas - Undefeated with a tie.
3. Auburn - 1 loss (to Texas) against a ridiculously hard schedule
4/5. Illinois/Miami - I think the API and UPI had them flip-flopped as 4, 5 and each went in 10-1.

Then
Texas lost 10-9 on a late touchdown to a Georgia team that was 9-1-1 (only loss to Auburn) in the Cotton Bowl.

Auburn beat Michigan (9-2 that year) 9-7 in the Sugar Bowl.

Illinois got trounced 45-9 in the Rose Bowl by UCLA (that was 6-4-1).

And Miami beat Nebraska 31-30 in the Orange Bowl jumping all the way from 4/5 to 1 in the final poll.

That was a pretty exciting day I recall and I loved when you had all the games on New Year's Day like that vs the drawn out affairs of today, but situations like that are why we needed a playoff. I actually thought Auburn should have been crowned #1 after all that as they had played a ridiculously hard schedule that year, and plus they were #3 and 2 and 1 lost. But they didn't get enough "style" points in beating UM and people wanted to pretend that Miami/Nebraska then acted as a championship game. And Nebraska had become a bit overhyped at that point as they were a flawed defensive team so Miami got a bit too much credit for beating them by a single point in their home stadium.

If Nebraska just kicks the extra point at the end and plays for a tie then they walk away as champions. So credit to Tom Osborne for playing for the win.

I do recall that being probably the only time in my lifetime of following college football where you went into the final vote wondering who the heck was going to be crowned champions, though most at that point thought Miami was getting it.
