Should Chip Kelly go all in

Mariota will be an NFL bust.

Using the Spartan game as an example is laughable. He was throwing to uncovered receivers for most of the 2nd half. That doesn't make him great, it just means MSU played a horrible half of football.

MSU was in control of that game for 40 minutes.

Mariota has a niche, no doubt.....but will fail in every pro style system he is put in.

He's Robert Griffin without the open field ability.

This. He will play well early until defenses figure him out or his body can't take the hits.

He is the exact same listed height and weight as another Oregon QB...

Joey Harrington.

Yes, Mariota is MUCH more athletic.......but imagine the piano man as a read option QB!

Not gonna last long.

No qb this year should be taken in the top 15.

I'm not a fan of Winston either. Saw a stat about him having the most picks in the NCAA on passes over 10 yards downfield. That means he either can't read a D or he's throwing way too late.

Guys in the NFL are better. I think he'll be a career backup after he gets his shot to start.

I don't see a first round QB in the group.

Theyll both go top 5 to shitty teams and get thrown out there and fail. While its obvious theres no andrew luck....there also not even a rg3 in this years draft.

Well it looks like you guys will be in for a BIG surprise in Super Mario's career! He's a baller!

I like him. .. he's just not good enough to turn around a ten or tb. Not a chance...

I think he has the talent to turn either team around over time. I'm not expecting him to come in and do what Russell Wilson or RG3 did their first years. More than most QB's struggle their rookie years and I expect the same with my guy.

Over time I think he's going to be a good starting NFL QB that has post season appearances.

If he does some how end up playing for Chip this season, I'd then say not only will he make the playoffs but he'll have Phi playing in the 2nd round min.

this is why I believe Mariota himself would be extremely happy if chip pulled out all stops to get him. I don't think he is a pro-style, pocket passer. he can do it as part of the mix, but he needs that more spread type O, IMO.

I don't think he was terrible in the NC, but was more a victim of WR drops early and that snowballed on the entire team. yes, good QBs have to overcome those types of things, but before we go too far down that road let's have a brief reflection on how Peyton did vs Seahawks last year. even the best can be totally thrown off their game by plays that stick in their head too long. next thing they know, they are down several scores and the D is pinning their ears back to come get you while the entire O is in melt down mode.
