Should Ebron be the Lions first pick?

no way in hell we should go after a TE at #10... makes zero sense with all the holes we still have. what a moron.

Crazy athleticism.

I just don't see how you could justify signing Pettigrew and then using a #10 OVERALL pick on a TE.

That is a lot of resources spent on a position that needed a minor upgrade.

I say no.

HOWEVER......that would REALLY open up the outside. I would love to have him.....but would be pretty upset about the pick......just like I was when we drafted Pettigrew when Harvin (the guy I wanted) was still on the board.

Since our current starting safety is a Honolulu blue traffic cone, I'd rather go Pryor.

why Pryor? he's a thumper that might get lost in the speed of the NFL (just like Delmas) HHCD is more of the center fielder that we need.

I like Pryor better, these things are just labels "center fielder" "thumper". Pryor is better in coverage and a hitter...he's like Delmas like I'm like Barry White. Name a recent player to come out of the Bama secondary to play well in the NFL.

I agree that HHCD is the better choice....especially at #10.

I disagree that Delmas got lost in the speed of the NFL. I think Delmas got lost in a terrible defensive scheme that required CB's and S's to cover for extended lengths of time. Detroit ran vanilla coverages and NEVER blitzed......making reads pretty damn easy for opposing QB's.

Agreed. Pryor is better. I'd rather have gilbert if we stay at 10 tho. Trade down, then pryor is the pick.

i haven't seen anybody praise Pryor's coverage ability (granted, i have a life outside of paying attention to football).

i was meaning more that Pryor, like Delmas, could end up going for the big hit, and just either playing himself out of position, or bouncing off instead of wrapping up. that's what i meant by getting lost by the speed, is that he might be caught off guard by how fast players actually are, and thus, out of position (like Delmas usually was).

Same. If comes down to those two, Gilbert. There are a few others in the mix for me at ten, Barr for one.

i put ebron as a target if we traded down to 15-20. BUUUUUUUttttt....then we signed shitty Pettigrew. LEts keep signing shitty guys mayhew. nice job!

Ebron could be a receiving upgrade but he doesn't give you what Pettigrew does as a blocker and a zone disruption. He finds the holes but has struggled at times with drops. I just don't think drafting a TE at 10 would have been a waste no matter how good he is. No TE is worth being drafted that high.

The Lions should hire find a 6'6" college power power forward who is a great rebounder, freak athlete but is undersized for the NBA. Find one that played football in high school (most probably did). There are probably a dozen in the MAC alone. It might take a year or two to develop but that is the route I would go. The Lions don't do that though....they sign 5'6" Rugby players!

I've said it for 2 years now. Brendan Dawson from MSU would be ideal. 6'6"...225 lbs. Freak athleticism. Crazy hops. Strong. Fast.

Would make a great NFL project, as his NBA potential is limited.

Those types of guys are a dime a dozen in college. As cheap as practice squad players are they should always have one guy like that in the works.

you're still whining and crying about this like a little bitch? he's not even on the team anymore, and was a f'ing practice squad guy. a guy that you bring in to kick the tires, see if there's anything there.

jesus, can't you find a better argument then that any more? how about you try living in the now, instead of the past. pathetic...
