Great news. That trade was already fantastic with him being under contract through 2020. Another 3 or so years on top of that would fill a much needed role for the foreseeable future, night and day after that trade.

I’m sure most of that whining was centered around Monarrez’s story, just trying to stir shit up for the exposure.

Inkfreq and Grandy,
I too think it was the Lions media from Freep especially. Monarrez is a f'n hack,
later on, even Birkett was putting stuff in his column bad mouthing Patricia.

Damon Harrison has approached Detroit Lions about long-term extension.
Snacks is already looking for a new deal in Detroit.

To listen to Carlos tell it, the players were ready to burn him at the stake and pray to Jobu for his demise. Yet, they seem to want to stay and more want to come.

Most of the "Patricia hate is media driven IMO. The second Pstricia was hired he was raked through the coals. "He's a slob", "look how he dresses, "uhoh another Patriots coach", "too smart for his own good" etc etc etc. Quinn is trying to change the culture here. And what organization does he want to copy? Only the best!!! Holy shit what a doushebag eh?!?! Quinn brings in a guy and a mix of former Patriots players that will hopefully change this sorry ass franchise into a winner. This is a process. This isn't going to happen overnight. Know why?? Not everyone is going to be onboard. You're going to have players/coaches that just don't want to do things the way Quinn and Patricia do. Weed them the fuck out and bring guys in that fit your team.

He has 2 years left regardless. He is staying at 31 and 32 years old in november. He wants a pay raise

Exactly Tones.

Like the team or hate them, the Patriots way of doing things is kinda proven at this point. I mean... they have so many rings, you can't wear them all on one hand.

I am in no way suggesting that Quinn and Patricia will provide anywhere near that level of success in Detroit. But I am saying there's nothing about the way the Patriots do things that can really be argued... they win every argument you can make.

So, you have some players who don't like it. They can go. Period. If you want to build a team that contends every year, and eventually wins the big one... you get rid of players that can't buy into a winning formula.

I might be the last Stafford supporter (and often apologist) left on the board, but if he can't buy in... he'd have to go too.

No one is above the team.

Is their success due to the "Patriot way" or is it because they have arguably the best QB and coach of all time? My guess is it's the latter.

Stafford is a good qb...sometimes hes even great. But at some point you need to ask yourself what one of these younger generations guys + 100 million could do for your team.

Kyler Murray and 100 million...is that better than Stafford? Haskins? Daniel Jones? Lock?

Ive watched Will Grier vs Oklahoma make every throw known to man and complete pass after pass after pass of 40 yards or more. Our guy cant do that once in 8 weeks!

I would honestly take Will Grier and 100 million dollars and all the picks you could get for Stafford right now if there was a way to trade him. Unfortunately you just cant...its not possible.

Big 12 doesnt play defense. Grier would be a nice backup to stafford though. Round 4
