someone please explain

Think its an ego thing or something. Why does the ref run over and get under a hood, because its his call he has to have final say? Let someone else handle that up in the booth that knows how run a vcr. If they do it right it won't be a distraction get good announcers that can fill that extra 30 sec and get it right.

ya it seems that way...where its a kinds thing where the ref has to make the call. Which is absolute shit cause if the jokers would have got the call right on the field than they wouldnt need the replay lol. You shouldnt get to be the one to correct the call if youre the one that fucked it up in the first place.

I understand the rule and that Schwartz messed up. I don't like the rule and hope it is changed but I do have a concern with the refs not blowing the whistle. What if when he was so called not down yet and Suh comes in and drops on his back, it would probably wind up a 15 yard penalty. Schwartz messed up and everyone knows it but the refs on the field shouldn't be applauded for letting the play go on. If I was a defender id hit a ball carrier just for standing up now.

My issue is what if he would have been tackled before reaching the end zone on that play...no automatic review and now we have to waste another challenge. That was our 2nd challenge of that game. Since we lost the 1st challenge we are now out of challenges for the game. What if that Broyles play that hit the ground and was then intercepted happened in the 4th quarter with more then 2 minutes and not in OT during the auto review period? They ruled it an INT on the field so we would have been screwed.

That's my issue with blowing an obvious call and why the challenge system is stupid. Adopt the college rule. No one is complaining it takes to long to play a college game because of their replay system.

I believe turnovers are also automatic reviews, aren't they? Not just in final 2 min.

I appreciate the feedback to my initial ?s. I haven't been able to watch anything or listen to radio...have the media guys called out the NFL for the stupidity of making the play non-reviewable? Or are they just being cowards and not wanting to be on the NFL's shitlist?

That's true...the TO's are auto reviewed...unless you throw a challenge flag. :)
