Spring "game" this saturday: The Michigan Difference

I wasn’t going to go anyway.

I’ve already parked in the Ann Arbor Pioneer High School parking lot-numerous times, I might add-and I never paid a dime to do it, not even once.

In fact I even ended up getting a high school diploma out of it, fully funded by the property owners of the city of Ann Arbor.

Well, probably not fully funded, some of the funds probably came from the State of Michigan and also the federal government of the United States.

My wife and I have decided to spend our money on more basketball tickets instead. It's my favorite anyway and she's really grown to love Michigan basketball. She enjoy sports, but she really loves Michigan bball. I think it may have surpassed her beloved Chicago Bears, but don't tell her I said that. We can make the trip to Ann Arbor for multiple basketball games and still spend less than one football weekend. We don't get gouged on hotels during basketball season. We typically find really good deals and can stay downtown Ann Arbor for cheaper than the freaking Red Roof Inn or Comfort Inn during football season.

I have made the trip from Indy to Ann Arbor for football games at least twice a year since 2001. Just not worth the investment anymore. Our next game we attend will be in 2021 when Washington comes.

Yep and it seems that the basketball program cares more about the fans than the football program does and it's a better product. No brainer!

I think MChamp has said that he isn't going to bother going to games anymore, also.

Yeah, I wouldn't go back unless a lot of friends were going as well, and I don't see that happening anytime soon. Last time I went to a game in Ann Arbor (Wisconsin, 2016), it was hard to find people to tailgate with. I had to go to my third option. Some of my old friends still in Michigan are completely sober now, which i didn't know until I texted them.

My 20 year reunion will be in a couple years, at homecoming. I'd go back for that.

in 2027 we play AT Texas, so I'll probably go to that. My kids will be old enough to go as well.

I actually have to go to a wedding in Michigan in September, but the couple considerately picked a BYE week to get married (she's an alum). Not sure if I'm up for two trips this fall.

It does look like they started scheduling some somewhat interesting games...

Washington has been good, and there's that home-and-away. then UCLA, but they suck.

I’ve gone to a couple Michigan at UCLA games. They won one and they lost one.

We'll definitely go back this fall for 2 football games ..maybe Bowl, depending.


Planning on UW for Labor Day to kickoff 2020 and would love to go to Pasadena for UCLA or a Rose Bowl!

In this day of infinite information, coaches definitely have to religiously scout spring games!

I hope the thick sarcasm was evident.

Remember when Beilein was worried about other coaches seeing the film from Spain this summer?!
