MLB players counteroffer with 114-game season, no additional pay cut.
Detnews

That's one hell of a counter proposal. :hmm:

This is one of the reasons why I hate players. People losing jobs, losing a business and these guys want to get every penny. Like 2 million isn't enough. FK them.

Yeah lets let the billionaire owners keep it all. fuck them more than the players.

I think in this situation, nobody is keeping any money. The owners are losing money and the players aren't getting paid. I think it is perfectly fair for the players to get paid based on the number of games they play. I don't think it was a fair proposal to have the higher paid players take a larger pay cut. If you play 1/2 of the games, you get 1/2 of your contract.

It doesn't really matter players or owners, the fans pay for it all. That was up until this season .. Now we just pay for most of it. Make some concessions. But players are greedy fk'ers who never think we pay for their oversize paychecks.

I never buy into that line of thinking. Most fans have a choice weather or not they financially support a team (outside of taxes for stadiums which is another conversation).

As far as the "local" teams, I don't provide a dime towards the Lions, Pistons or Red Wings. I will buy an occasional Tigers hat or golf shirt, and maybe go to a game every year or so.

Some fans help financially support the teams, but they don't have to. You can be a fan of the teams without dropping a dime.

It's not so easy saying "I'm sorry son I can't afford to get hot dogs or a drink the tickets dried me." But what I just said is besides the point, fans still pay for it. Players certainly don't realize it either. Its like they think its just them and the owners. "The owners pay them, not realizing we play the owners.

And I just don't think its just buying stuff. We watch a game on TV, and more people that do - higher revenues. Of of the 3 players, owners or fans - players are the lowest denominator. Take a great player like Mike Trout weather he's here or not baseball goes on. The Angels attendance is similar with or without him.
