Spring Training cancelled; Opening Day delayed -season starts July 24 for 60 Games

"Per his report, the draft would occur sometime in July and would be reduced to as few as five rounds, but no more than ten. What’s more, draftees would be forced to defer 90% of their bonuses. They’d get 10% up front, with 45% paid in July of 2021 and the remaining 45% paid in July 2022. McDaniel ads that a maximum bonus for un-drafted players would be imposed as well, with $10,000 being the number being discussed."

My guess is a lot of players will just go back to school.

If there are only 5 rounds there will probably be some good players that can be had for $10K.

If this isn't figured out by then there won't be any school. I'd be worried by the HS kids. If colleges stay closed where do they go? Or do they even graduate since they can't finish out their senior years. This blows.

I have a senior in HS. They are doing distance learning. They won't be returning to school this year and I am 90% sure they won't have a graduation ceremony. They will graduate.

It does blow.

Glad they get to graduate.

but no ceremony sucks. They will just get a diploma in the mail.

No ceremony, no class trip, no prom & I was going to take him and some of his friends to FL for spring break, which was also cancelled. It's not what he had planned for what was supposed to be the best 2 months of his high school career.

No class trip is a bummer. I hated my ceremony though outside, 95 degrees- long extended speech that lasted forever. Fortunately someone had a deck of cards.

that would suck. They have it in an air conditioned theater, so it's not too bad. He's a boy so he probably won't miss it too much. He is really bummed about the FL trip. I've been racking my brain to try to figure out something to make it up to him but I haven't been able to figure anything out yet.
