jesus christ some of you fans are honestly ridiculous.. one week we're this years super bowl champs.. the next week this?!?!

he had one poor game... and now you want to get rid of him? he's played just over one years worth of games. he's 23, and going into this week was the 4th best passer in the fucking league... RE. LAX.

First of all, I've never said anything to the sort that we will win the Super Bowl, let alone make the playoffs - so don't put words in my mouth. Putting up stats is nice, but his decision making has been horrid at times. Hell, I said in a preseason thread that he would put up stats, big numbers too. Stats don't equal wins (unless you are Aaron Rodgers these days). Take away Calvin Johnson - and it is unfair to in some regards, but I will anyways - and he has a 9:8 TD to INT rate with about 1700 yards. If Calvin were to get hurt, I would expect numbers that would be only slightly better than this. I'm hoping it is just that lack of experience getting to him still, but time will tell. Like I said - the physical tools are there, but his head needs work. There is good and bad with no in between from him.

Am I giving up on him? Not until I see what kind of progression he makes from here in the next year or two. Will I eat crow if he gets us somewhere significant in the near future? Sure.

WTF....take Calvin away?? Ok, do your magic math on Joe Montanas' career without Rice....Marino with the Marks Brothers....Rodgers with Jennings....Shaub with AJ???

Why are you punishing him for having, and utilizing, a great receiver?? That's stupid.

So are your posts.

Ya on the TD return by Hester, the coverage scheme was 9 guys inside the left hash, 1 guy down the middle + the punter deep.

Lose

Especially when the punt doesn't bury Hester deep enough into the sidelines.

Stafford had a bad game, but people all over this thread nailed it. He threw 63 times, he got zero help from his Receivers. He had at least 2 sure TD's dropped in the endzone, and they played behind the entire game because of amazingly sloppy play in the 1st qtr.

Stafford was clearly not accurate, announcers touched on that most of game - Billick was trying to blame the glove he was wearing... probably less about the glove, and more about the fracture - either way, he was clearly suffering from accuracy issues.

He's 23...

His pocket presence is shit right now, but you'd hope that will get better with time - and a new Tackles.

His arm is for real. His accuracy is for real (See the long fade he dropped into Calvin's arms perfectly in stride). The running game wasn't great, but what can you expect with as many times as they run that fucking Shotgun Draw play.

This game was all about quicksand.

I wouldn't call his accuracy for real. He does hit some nice long balls but I think at times he is bad on the shorter and intermediate passes. Those are the drive killers!

Once again...He is still just 23 years old and has played just over 16 games. Sometimes he hits the short/intermediate routes and other times he is off. The consistency will come with time and good health allowing for more experience/growth.

Maybe the consistancy will come....but you can't call him accurate right now.

He had completed over 60% of his passes this season which is an improvement. Can't ask for more than that.

comp rate also doesn't take into effect dropped catchable balls....the Lions drop alot of passes.

Well, there are 21 QBs with better completion % this year....so I guess we could ask for more.

As a sidebar...Staff's mechanics have gone to shit these past few games.

Regardless, its an improvement.

#1 QB coming out of HS
#1 Coming out of college

He is among the best in the NFL

With enough time to throw he is lethal.

What a dumb post

I think rodgers would do fine without jennings. Shocked you didn't go with manning and harrison instead

Stafford will be fine. I'll leave it at that. Changed my mind, I wont leave it there.

let us not forget how pathetic this franchise was for so long. This is still going to take time. The OL is not awesome by any means and they have no running game. I'm not so sure the Chicago D was genius. It was obvious they have no running threat right now. And stafford didn't cause Cal Johnson to drop those passes. This team is on the right track. Peaks and valleys for an up and coming team.

Stafford is just a scapegoat like the Tigers managers and Red Wings goalies here in Detroit.

1. You're proving my point Einstein....I think all the quarterbacks mentioned would be just fine without the WR named. There are VERY FEW great WR that had QB's that weren't good throwing them the ball. There are exceptions of course, but not too many. Its a one sided relationship most of the time. QB's can make a WR great....but seldom is it the other way around.

2. Shocking that you chose Rodgers to comment about.

3. I didn't choose Manning because you could also include Wayne and Clark in there too.

This year he has been. Argue that......

23 year old QB slinging the rock. He's going to have growing pains no doubt but you can't deny the upside is tremendous.

He has the worst 3rd down Conversion % in the NFL. sub 60 completion percentage is in no way accurate. Middle of the league in interceptions. Below par Yard per attempt. He's got some solid yards/TD stats, but the total doesn't matter all that much if you aren't efficient. He isn't even close to elite.

2. Doesn't manning and harrison have all the qb to wr records? That's why I said it.

3. And comparing what rice did for montana and jennings does for rodgers is a bit crazy.

Rodgers and Brady use all of their weapons. Which is why I was questioning why you mentioned him over harrison/manning. (Who have all the records). Einstein.
