Stafford isn't the answer...

They should cut him next year and roll with Stanton or draft Robert Griffin in the first.

This year he has been. Argue that......

23 year old QB slinging the rock. He's going to have growing pains no doubt but you can't deny the upside is tremendous.

He has the worst 3rd down Conversion % in the NFL. sub 60 completion percentage is in no way accurate. Middle of the league in interceptions. Below par Yard per attempt. He's got some solid yards/TD stats, but the total doesn't matter all that much if you aren't efficient. He isn't even close to elite.

Never once did i say ELITE. I just said he's been one of the best THIS year. There's no denying it. People have to realize that SO FAR, he's played every game for us. This is pretty much his rookie year. He's going to get better. Be happy with what the fuck we have. We haven't had a QB like him EVER. The skies the limit with this kid.

Pretty much is rookie year? come on man....you are better than that. He has been in the league for 2 1/2 years. As far as being one of the best....if you consider top 1/3 as one of the best I guess he has been one of the best. I think top 4 or 5 is "one of the best" and he isn't there IMO. He MIGHT crack the top 10 so far this year which is good.

Let me clarify. When i say "rookie year", i meant it as he's played a full season as a Lion. That's all. I know how long the kid has been in the league. We're now seeing why this kid was drafted #1. He's proven he can play in this league, cannon for an arm, leader. But there are negatives that come with it a bit, right? He's been immature at times, unmotivated, hurt and awful at times. To me, it has a lot to do with his age. He's only 23 years old, but he needs to grow up fast. I'm willing to take the bad with the good.

And when i say "the best", he's been right up there with the best. His TD's, yards and completion percentage to go along with winning is what gauges it for me. But don't get it twisted. I'm not comparing him to a Drew Brees, Brady or Rodgers as a WHOLE. He's not even close to that. I'm just saying he's in the upper echelon of QB's for 2011. To say he's not is beyond stupid. Lets see where he ends up at the end of the year.

Calling this his rookie year would be like saying Rodgers threw 4,000yrds his rookie year.

Stop being a fn idiot....all of you. Stafford has been hurt in his 2 years as a Lion. His 3rd has been relatively healthy and he hasn't missed a game. I take back the "rookie" comment for fuck sakes. I'm just guaging his performance on him being healthy for the 1ST TIME in his career. Holy fuck....

I'm an idiot because I don't think staffords a rookie? Lol

No, you're a fn idiot because you took it literally. I didn't realize i was dealing with a bunch of half tards on here. I wasn't calling Stafford a rookie per say, i was just comparing him as FINALLY being healthy in his 3rd year. Never should of used the word rookie......(mental note).

I hope someone gets what i'm saying.......lol.

I get what you're saying now. I'm not even sure if I even read your actual post where you called him a rookie lol. I read one where someone was commenting about it. Lol

You meant it as physically its like his rookie season?

My bad. I never should have labeled him a rookie. Just glad he's (somewhat) healthy for the first time in his career and we're just getting a taste of what's to come.

I've been a fan ever since he threw that td with a hurt shoulder.

Hey, man, he won the hearts of millions of Lions fans after that game. More importantly, his teammates and coaches. We all knew he had it in him...

Why do I get the feeling this thread is going to go the way of the "Verlander isn't a true ace" thread?

Well I'll give Stafford his due, he looked hapless early on and bounced back good today. I know you guys know what I mean when I say he looks great or he looks hapless and nowhere in between. It's almost like Drew Brees early in his career when Doug Flutie used to go in to replace him all the time.

I can't believe this thread got so much attention this week.

Until his favorite receivers arent the other team or a dink pass to a rb....hes not a very good qb.
