Stafford isn't the answer...

This year he has been. Argue that......

23 year old QB slinging the rock. He's going to have growing pains no doubt but you can't deny the upside is tremendous.

He has the worst 3rd down Conversion % in the NFL. sub 60 completion percentage is in no way accurate. Middle of the league in interceptions. Below par Yard per attempt. He's got some solid yards/TD stats, but the total doesn't matter all that much if you aren't efficient. He isn't even close to elite.

Maybe if he had a better running game and not so many 3rd and longs. Or better pass blocking so when it is 3rd and long he has more than .3 seconds to throw. You have to take all that into account.

Dumbest thread ever.

He does have upside....but he has not been among the best this year.

21st yards per attempt
22nd comp %
9th in QB rating

Upside..yes. Among the best this year...no.

4th in Tds
8th yds per game
8th yards

not bad when you don't have a run game , and your #1 WR see's over the top coverage everyweek.

Well he's going to have the stats when you pass the ball like the lions do. What'd he have before the bears game, 4ints? He just had one really, really bad game lol

100% right on......even the great Aaron Rodgers had 1 last year...he didn't throw 4 picks....but had a 34 rating a INT , ran for his life and left in a fog not to be seen again in that Lion game last year.

That pick was Jennings fault but the Lions did disrupt Rodgers all half and stopped the Pack run game cold. And the second half of game 1 last year Rodgers did nothing and threw 2 picks against the Lions allowing the Lions back in that game. Last 4 Quarters, Rodgers has zero points against the Lions.

First half of that game Rodgers was busy torchign Wade with Driver three times and Landon Johnson with Finley.

Turkey Day is going to be interesting if the Lions D shows up.

Those stats are due to him passing so much. I am not ripping him...just trying to bring some perspective. He is not a top tier QB like some here seem to think. He is average with potential.

The problem isn't his accuracy or his arm. Both are for real.

The problem is consistency, and you get that with experience. Period.

There's too many throws he's made just this year that prove he's for real. Think of the Schef TD pass on the skinny post against KC. That throw was RIDICULOUS. Or even the Overtime throw to CJ that set up the Field Goal. Unreal touch - and yeah Calvin made a great play to haul it in, but it couldn't have been throw more accurately given the coverage.

He's not an elite QB. Elite QBs do it every week. But 9 has the ability to become one with experience, imo.

This kind of stuff doesn't matter when talking about Tony Romo though.

If anyone knows if some site has a stat out there for average distance to the 1st down marker on 3rd downs I'd like to know where the Lions rank on that.

I'll take there running game in a heart beat. Can we have DeMarco Murray?

I looked around but that looks to be pretty tough to find. I checked some pretty intricate stat sites with no luck.

Didn't have Demarco before..now that he does he's been brilliant.

That game is seriously the super bowl for you dude. Its kind of pathetic.

And him and the whole team played poorly for awhile. The redskins beat them as well. Its all about catching fire at the end of the season, which the packers did and won their 4th super bowl. And it seems like they're still on fire.

7 - 3 Drew Stanton MVP...lol

Congrats lol.

"Drew..you just beat the packers. What are you going to do next?"

"I'm going to wal mart!"

Only because he's not special enough to get into Sams Club.

Being accurate is being consistant. If you are accurate but only accurate 1/2 of the time are you really accurate?

I think more of his accuracy issue stem from discomfort in the pocket, as opposed to lack of physical tools.

Part of being an accurate passer is having good footwork - actually that's a major part of it. And his footwork isn't always good... actually lately it's been mostly bad.

When he stays in the pocket and delivers the ball with good mechanics, there's a short list of passers more accurate than him. He fits the ball into windows that most NFL QB's can't.

He just doesn't always have the best mechanics.

Some of it is he's young and is perceiving pressure that isn't there. Some of it is when the pressure does get there because our line has been a let down this year. Some of it last game was the fracture in his hand.
