Stafford knows people are talking about him being benched

One guy is one of the highest players in the league. Some of the other guys are 4th string WR and TE. When playing with players of lesser ability you need to play better. With guys like that you need to throw a more catchable ball, you have to be accurate.

A guy like Durham is not held to the same standard as A guy like Stafford. Were not paying Durham to be an elite WR. We are paying stafford to be an elite QB. Which he has not been.

to be fair...he hasn't even been an average qb.

I've always made fun of Romo but I'd take him over Stafford straight up right now.

And you can deny the fact that Staffords play is the reason the Lions are not in the playoffs

Youre delusional but nothing surprises me anymore around here with some of you fn buffoons. Staff has a hand in not making the playoffs but this team from top to bottom shit the bed. Its not all on Stafford ..

Tony to be sure it is more Jim's fault then Matt's but he is really moved firmly into the second spot this year for sure and is right on Jim's heel's for the top spot... I need to ask because I know you know football if you think Mat has regressed.... Because I think he really has.. Weather he is taking coaching or not Matt has made a lot of poor throws and decisions this year... His footwork is horrible.. His sidearm throws are becoming laughable and he really has appeared lost the last half of the season... What bothers me more is he never blames himself (Unless I missed it)and always says as a team we need to play better.. To be a leader he needs to hold himself accountable... So damn frustrating hat Matt and the Lions did not break through this year... Hopefully a new staff can help him...
But all we need is ONE LESS pick this year and we are playing for a playoff spot Sunday.

No, i dont think Matt has regressed. He was very good in the first half of the year. He was improving on every facet of his game actually. The second half he played very poorly, the worse football since he's been here but in no way has he regressed as a QB. Nobody was complaining about his sidearm or his footwork for the first 8-9 games, right? I dont know what happened really lol. He needs to work on some shit for sure though but you cant fuck around with a gunslinger much. I said it before, he's not a dropback QB or very athletic. He's your prototypical gunslinger who looks chaotic doing what he does, good or bad.
As for him not owning up to good play bad play? I dont buy it. Im sure he cares and he knows he needs to play better. He addressed it like a week ago that he needs to get better. This team leads the league in dropped passes and they have had multiple fumbles and miscues. Not once did you hear about Stafford pointing his fingers at certain individuals. For a 25 year old kid, that says something.
And you saying 'ONE LESS PICK' and we're in the playoffs is bullshit. Too easy to blame Staff. So many things factor into this team imploding and to blame Stafford is dead wrong. This whole team shit the bed from top to bottom, including Matt

He might not have regressed from his average 2012 but from 2011 he has. But since 2012 and 2013 are very similar that is our Matt Stafford. He's average, better than some worse than others. Right in the freaking middle.

In the middle? Fair enough. Ok, name me 15 starting QBs you'd rather have over Stafford.

What is the argument, rather have this year or rather have going forward?

If we are talkin this year only:
Manning (Peyton)
Rivers
Rodgers/Flynn combo
Brees
Brady
Ryan
Wilson
Roetglisberger
Romo
Cutler/Mccown combo
Foles
Dalton
Smith
Flacco
Tannenhill
Palmer

Now if you are talking going forward the list is a lot shorter because of age etc. But his level of play needs to improve, he has shown he has ability to be a top 5 QB in this league. He just needs to figure out a way to play at that level consistently. I'm not sure if it's mental, mechanics, lack of preparation, arrogance, carelessness, coaching or what, but this level of play can not to tolerated in this organization any longer. I'm sick of potential, show it on the field. This season was a failure, QB play is the #2 reason why.

I would add

Newton
Luck

Probably take off Palmer

That's a good list. After 2011 it was much smaller but when you have guys like Foles, McCown, Alex Smith etc putting up better numbers it's a problem. His biggest problem is accuracy and I'm not sure you can teach. Blame the drops all you want he left too many points on the field.

Add jameis Winston to that list. I can probably name 3 high school qbs with better accuracy too.

Yep, drops don't mean jackshit. Go away

Romo is better and it really isn't close. The only one I would question on his list is Palmer.

if we lead the league in drops every year ill give you a hint whos problem it is....its not the WR/TE/RBs....its the shitty qb that can even be accurate on a 3 yard dump down.

Why is Staff better than Romo? Just because he gets ripped on for his late int? Well Staff has late INT as well with much worse numbers. It's not even close.

Romo has been much much better with a worse defense. Stafford is catching up to Romo quickly on 4th quarter losses.
