Stafford thinks the breakout player on offense will be

Where would he fit in our offense? Slot or outside?

I have a feeling we aren't going to have traditional inside/outside WR's.

Going to be a lot of motion and different formations. If I had to label Jones.....id say inside because of his size.

I think he's versatile enough to do both. His first career TD came while he was lined up outside.

Good player. Productive in college, showed promise as a pro last year. Gonna be tough though....Tate, M. Jones, Ebron and Riddick in the passing game ahead of him, not enough balls to go around IMO. You never know I guess...maybe if an injury happens. We'll see...

I didn't see it....

He plays with the kid every day so more power to him...

but in what little we saw of him last year....I don't see him getting more touches. From what we did in the off season and what I saw last year.....im testing my new look run oline and I'm continuing to get the ball to Riddick in space.

If anyone gets more touches id think its Abdullah because hopefully were running the ball more effectively or Ebron because he develops into the MUN he was drafted to be.

I agree that AA should be the player who benefits most from what we did in the draft.

He figures out his ball security issues and he could get 250 carries this year. If not........he'll continue to split 1st - 3rd quarter carries with Zenner/Ridley and watch the 4th quarter from a nice seat on the sideline.

As of now......Riddick, Jones and Tate are the only skill players on offense with a guaranteed role.

AA, Ebron, Kerley, and TJ Jones will fight it out to get touches/targets.

Zenner, Pettigrew, Wright, Ridley, Caldwell, Washington and Lee will all fight for roster spots.

Jay Lee makes the team and plays behind Marvin....I think that gets him more touches than TJ Jones playing behind Tate.

Sounds like he doesn't run routes well, drops quite a few passes, and just has confidence issues. Doesn't sound like he'll be a Stafford favorite right out of the gate. Be awesome if he made the roster and got coached up a bit this year. Like his size and athleticism a lot though

Idk about that. I think Jones has the #3 locked up right now. He's a perfect slot guy IMO..

agreed if a WR is in the slot....but if they split someone into the slot I think a good percentage of the time it will be Riddick or ebron.

Like some people pointed out, TJ Jones can play on the outside and inside. I just think he's the #3 WR behind Tate and M. Jones. The Fuller experiment should be over.......Kerley could be a #4/#5 and is our ST guy. Hot mess really lol. Maybe one of these UDFA make a splash early....

Im ok with our top 3 receivers. Plus i expect Ebron to continue to get more looks and we still have Riddick. Only so many balls to go around, plus it looks like we are going to try and run the ball more.

Nothing we haven't seen before, right? ..lol. I think M. Jones is good for 80+ recs and over 1,000 yds anyways. Throw in around 8 TDs and all is well. He's no CJ but the drop off isn't that major IMO. The weapons are there....just gotta protect the QB. By doing that, like you said, they plan on running the ball this year. They have already shown their hand on what they "plan" on doing through free agency and the draft.

So, are you guys thinking this is going to be a run heavy offense, or just a more effective version of what we've seen the last few years? IMO, Stafford will still be throwing the ball 30+ times per game.

Quin made moves to make the run game effective potentially in the future. Short term though not much has changed. Youll probably have Decker at RT....a rookie but probably an upgrade to run blocking from what was there last year. Then you MIGHT have a new center...also a rookie. Same 2 guards, same LT. I do think the 2 guards will benefit from a more capable C....that is if he wins the job over Samsonite.

I just don't see that equating to a hugely successful run game in year 1. So ya, I think we see a lot of what we saw last year. Good news is that worked a lot of the time. Get Riddick in open space, hopefully ebron can progress, tate running crossing routes, marvin as a deep option. Abdullah holds onto the ball and I think we have a better offense than last year.

I think our problem will be more based on how our defense performs. I don't see a single spot where that was upgraded from last year. MAYYYYBE DT....which wasn't really a problem spot anyways.

Not sure about run heavy but they're planning on running the ball more. Like i said, all the signs are there. Decker, Glasgow, Warford are all nasty road graders. They picked up Ridley whose a banger up the middle and he should be a healthier back this year. Then you hit the defense with Abdullah off the ends. A lot of short passes to Riddick and Tate...2 guys that play well in space. The short passing game is practically a running game in itself. Then throw in guys like Ebron and Jones to open things up. Can't wait...

Not a single spot on D improved? Maybe DT? Cmon man....Robinson is a huge upgrade, Killebrew should improve the secondary play, picked up a bevy of LBs that should contrubute right away, Zettel is an upgrade over Jones too. My worry is the youth movement but as long as they can play, we should be fine. And if they even can have just somewhat of a running game, that alone improves the defense because they'll be rested. A lot of "ifs" but they got talent...

Im not even sure killebrew sees the field. Bush probably plays over him and abdul qudus was lights out last year. Leave it to the lions to get the most out of a relatively unknown player. ...FINALLY....and then just let him walk for a couple mil a year.
