This is the first Dolphins game I've seen since the beginning of the season and Suh is irrelevant since half time.

The Giants are running the ball to try and end the game and he's on the bench taking a breather for multiple plays. Good riddance.

He's actually having a pretty good season now, 48 tackles and 4 sacks, but yeah, he was spent and needs to rest in the Miami heat. His best days are behind him, but he's still a top 5 DT. Only thing is, will he be a top 10 DT in a couple years when they're still paying him top 5 money? Doubt it.

Exactly. Suh is exactly what he has always been.... A solid DT and as a DT you don't accumulate that many stats... What do his hits/pressures on QB's look like? Ultimately i think we would have been better, and dare i say a playoff team with him this year, but don't like the amount of money he will be making 3+ years for the type of play received.

I was watching the game last night and they did a short piece on where they have been lining him up. He has been all over the line...DE, DT, NT...I'm not sure if they are trying to get good matchups or what but it doesn't appear that it is working.

Suh is on the wrong team in my opinion.

One thing I noticed about Suh in that Giants game was his conditioning was awful. Never seen that in Detroit. And once that game was over and the clock hit zeros, he shot out of that stadium like his hair was on fire. Shook nobody's hand or anything.
I told all you guys that Miami was the wrong fit for him. if it wasn't for his family, this guy would still be in Detroit and he would be making a difference. Imagine him and the way Ziggy is playing this year?? Scary...

Not to beat a dead horse but him and Donald would be awesome

Judging by what I saw Sunday, I'd take Fairley and Donald at this point. Sooo much cheaper.

YEP. Lets see - first, we decided to take Ebron over Donald. 2nd, we extended Suh so much we couldn't franchise him. Lastly, we opted out of Fairley's last year.

Fairley has the dream job though. He's a very good sub. Never really a starter because of injuries and conditioning. He's in a great position for the Rams....

Absolutely. I hope it wasn't taken by anyone that I equate Suh to Fairley, I don't. But with the money you save, it's just too much of a net gain.

Just imagine if Robert Quinn wasn't injured on Sunday. Stafford would be in a coffin. I wish Ansah would've had that chance.

1 and 3 make me want to bash my head against a wall.....#2 doesn't bother me at all. Good riddance.

Generally agree with that just a bad GM with all his renegotiation. Eventually it catches up.

I know most won't agree with me.....but I believe Mayhew had little control over Suh not being here and I don't mind his handling of Suh's contract along the way. I think the old CBA just bit the Lions in the ass on that one.

In the end.....I'm glad the Lions didn't pay him that much this year. Miami will regret that contract BIG TIME for years to come.

I'm glad we didn't sign him to a ridiculous contract. But old CBA or not, and whether or not Suh was worth keeping on a decent priced franchise tag .. that was his screw up. Not like his restructures helped this franchise win some playoff games.

No, it didn't. But what do you want a GM to do, not try? His restructures helped us sign FA's. The fact that the guys signed didn't help us is beside the point.

What.....one more year of Suh on a team that is currently 4-9. Eh. I'll take the tradeable comp pick, thanks!

Even if I believed that Mayhew was completely certain Suh was coming back and up until the very end Suh made him believe it, you have to have a backup plan ready to go if you've got the real potential of losing both Fairley and Suh.

Ngata seemed like an "Oh shit" moment. Not drafting a DT until round 5 that year was a mistake regardless of how much or little you blame Mayhew. Our greatest weakness turned into a liability outside of Ansah in just one year.

Completely agree. It will be even worse when Ngata bolts back to the Ravens next year.....leaving us with even less.

That's not the point. What other potential FA have franchise tags in that amount. You don't restructure that often. It's not healthy. Look at CJ, if they wanted to trade him it's almost impossible because of his dead money. That's on the GM. Not because of the CBA.

Not the CBA? Really? What would his salary, and in turn his franchise tag have been on the new CBA?

Every GM dealt with it.......but not every GM had to deal with that many top 2 picks. Something had to give.
