Suh's contract

Houston has 3 good years in Detroit.

Houston has 3 years of being an average corner in Detroit. If he was "good" he would have got attention in FA but twice hes hit FA now and twice he heard crickets.

He was once a solid young 2 but now hes just a struggling veteran with good speed an poor footwork.

You have no clue what offers he got.

And he was good in 2011 and 2012 and solid in 2010. That is a fact.

ya I do. hes still here making peanuts. so I know exactly the offers he was getting. shitty ones!

Cornerback Chris Houston turned around his career after he was traded to the Detroit Lions from the Atlanta Falcons in 2010. Houston decided to stay with the Lions by re-signing in 2011, but the deal was only for two years. This made him a free agent again this year, and considering he was coming off of an outstanding season, it wasn't completely clear if the Lions were going to be able to retain him. In the end, Houston did decide to stay with the Lions, agreeing to a five-year deal with the team on Wednesday.

Notice the outstanding season part

notice they didn't say more than one good season? Like I said....one good season just like the S they signed. You look at the one good season and expect the Safety and Houston to play like that again while the rest of us expect to see what they have done for the MAJORITY of their careers. We are realistic...you are in your own little "Lions homer" world.

Houston was good in 2011 and 2012. And solid in 2010. Most of his Lions career is a good thing for Detroit. And he was injured in 2013.

I read they weren't interested in resigning him at all because they were moving Elam to SS this year. The article you posted sums it up perfectly. Hes 30 and is a solid starter. Draft someone and let him be their mentor the way he did Elam.

Harbaugh wanted him back but said he didn't fit financially for them , they have a few younger and cheaper options on their roster they felt could give them the same production.

ya ive read that a few times too. Hard to tell if that's just coachspeak or if he really means it. Kinda hard to prove you wanted him back when you didn't even attempt to sign him and we got him on a pretty cheap deal. It was a good signing for us. We need to work on depth at that position now....carey is useless. Hoping we spend a 3 or 4 on one this draft.
