DEEPER DISCUSSIONS.
Totally Tigers
The final results of voting for the Baseball Hall of Fame was completed last week. Once again, the issue of PED use was front and center, as it has been for a decade.
Whether or not to vote in players who cheated by using PEDs will continue to be a significant issue. For example, Alex Rodriquez just completed his first year of eligibility and has 9 more years on the ballot. As well, players such as Barry Bonds and Rogers Clemens did not get elected but will now get consideration from one of the ERA committees in the near future.
Baseball has also seen the introduction of ?legalized? gambling. The growth of sports betting is now creating a threat to the integrity of the game. No one has officially explained how corruption will not impact how the game will be played. Even if players aren?t allowed to bet, they could conceivably be telling others how and when to place them.
Which controversy is the greater threat to the game? PED use that skews the stats, alters history and changes the game or betting on baseball games?
Today?s blog addresses this dilemma and allows readers to share their thoughts in more detail. And hopefully, to actively engage with others by responding to their posts and creating back-and-forth discussion threads. The more the merrier!
For this one blog only, you?ve got 6 sentences max to share your thoughts. Of course, you can respond to as many other readers as you want.
TT will supply the ammunition. One thought-provoking question. Several options provided. One hard choice to be selected. One vote.
Ready?
Which is the bigger threat to the integrity of the game?
1. Betting on games.
2. Inducting PED users into the Hall of Fame.
