The Official 2014 Draft Thread

nope, doubt anyone would even know who he is if he didnt come out

Well, you have done it. You have finally said the single dumbest thing you will ever say in your life.

Feel good to get it out of the way early?

Freese was 20 for 20 last year including 6 for 6 from 40+. Also had a few of those 40+ in cold weather. He also has done well punting the ball although his lack of height and kicking style make it unlikely he does it in a non emergency situation.

Detroit was the only team that had Freese in for a private workout.

*edit* Apparently a couple other teams worked him out late in the process too.

Nate Freese, K, Boston College
Height: 5-11. Weight: 192.
Projected Round (2014): 6-FA.
5/5/14: Freese could be the first kicker selected. He has taken some pre-draft visits and teams have shown interest in him. Freese was a perfect 20-for-20 as a senior and made both of his attempts from greater than 50 yards. He was very reliable in other seasons for Boston College. Freese hit 18-of-20 in 2012, 10-of-16 in 2011 and 22-of-25 in 2010.

HAHA...

He was a good college player but he was never projected to go high in the draft or even be drafted. The circus around him hyped him up.

he was the next "Robert mathis" until he came out....now hes the next UPS truck driver.

He'll land a deal somewhere, but you are correct.

You don't go from SEC Co defensive player of the year and finalist for the Bendarik, Hendricks, and Lombardis... to unknown.

The kid was an emerging star, and then he came out.

I'd hate to see Michael Sam go to the Packers. The jokes would never stop.

I give him props though. went from a late round pick to maybe undrafted. he will get a shot in a camp somewhere

Any ideas who we might make offers to after the draft. Seemed to do well last year with Waddle and Fauria
