The official 2018 nfl draft thread

Pass rush did improve as did secondary

Health, scheme and hand and kennard
Shead, Walker and Wilson health and tabor experience

Forgot about Tabor. I expect him to beat out Lawson for that #2 job opposite Slay...

Question for everyone. When was the last year we didnt take a WR?? I cant remember one we didnt till now to be honest.

Frank Ragnow article, 3 weeks before the draft

Frank Ragnow ? the forgotten superstar of the 2018 NFL Draft

https://www.profootballfocus.com/news/draft-frank-ragnow-the-forgotten-superstar-of-the-2018-nfl-draft

There is one offensive line prospect that is so good in this draft that he unifies everybody in agreement behind his talents: Notre Dame G Quenton Nelson. There is another interior player though that the PFF data suggests is in the same kind of ballpark but being comparatively ignored: Arkansas C Frank Ragnow.

Ragnow is the top center prospect in the draft and while he doesn?t have offensive line gurus drooling over themselves the way Nelson does, he has posted similar PFF grades over his time at Arkansas.

Nelson has three straight seasons with an overall PFF grade north of 85.0, and checked in at 95.1 this past season, improving every year of his college career. He is a consensus top-10 pick in this draft and a player good enough that the questions center around ?just how high can you actually take a guard?? rather than his overall ability.

Webvideo Highlights: Watch the best plays from the Detroit Lions? 2018 draft class.
Time to get to know the Lions 2018 draft class, via their college tape.
POD

Round 1 Interior linemen
Round 2 RB
Round 3 Safety/Cb hybrid
Round 4 trade future Round 3 for Dlinemen
Round 5-7 FB, backup OT. (2015 had Diggs in Round 6 but Lions gave up Round 6 in trade for Greg Robinson)

This is the exact 2015 draft, even the 4th round trade. FB and back OT were switched with Burton and Corey Robinson in 2015 in Round 5 and 7. These players better work out though.

Hey man, we turned that 1st rounder into a 2019 5th round pick in just 2 years. That's impressive.

We probably won't be a playoff team no matter who we drafted this year.

Defensive players often have an easier time making an instant impact, so drafting them next year shouldn't be an issue. Playing for the 2019/2020 season.

It's the NFL where teams go from shit to SB winners quickly.

when you put 4 out of 6 picks into fixing the run game... it will be pretty easy to see if it was a smart decision or not. Run the ball well or it was a failed draft... that simple.

You trade up for a rb... you better use him. I fully expect kerryon Johnson to be a 1000 yard back.

While your optimism is nice, very few 2nd round RBs are 1000 yard rushers in their rookie year. I agree that they had better use him a lot.

Cmon man... you know I'm not the optimist! Lol

Im just saying...rd 1 c and lt. High priced fa rt and rg. Trade up for a 2nd rd rb. Better see results or else you made some wrong personnel decisions... and that should fall on quinn at this point.... especially since 4/6 picks go to oline and rb and he decided to completely neglect the pass rush via draft.

Not optimism... just holding people accountable for their decisions. I fully expect the run game to be subpar until i see otherwise.
