Congratulations to zyxt9 for his closest score prediction in the thread for the Northwestern game, predicting the shutout and a relative blowout by MICHIGAN. Good call, but now on to State ….
For the first time since 2012, MICHIGAN gets to host this intense intra-state battle as the Spartans have to drive the 45 minutes south down US-23 to Ann Arbor, leaving the inept time keeper and trash tornado behind in East Lansing. Adding to their difficulty, 187 of the 200 players on the roster are injured and unable to play. Fortunately, Okemos High School was able to loan the Spartans a few linemen and they will be able to field a full team on Saturday afternoon.
No need to dress the game up in pleasantries or nonsense because everyone knows what is on the line. A win for Michigan State means having overcome the most insurmountable amount of disrespect and insult ever faced by a college football program ...going into a rivalry game as a higher-ranked team, having won 6 of the past 7 contests. A win for Michigan, on the other hand, means all is right in the world and it’s no big deal.
A curious situation in Vegas mirrors the often curious plays and bounces this rivalry often generates with a line opening at MICHIGAN -3 now moving to MICHIGAN -8 with an Over/Under of 41 Total Points.
So go ahead and make your prediction with some supportive analysis if you wish and what the hell …go ahead and woof and bark all you want for just this game!
