The Official Minnesota vs ][V][ichigan Game Thread

If MSU was 68-35-5 versus Michigan there would be a series of billboards all over Lansing, on 27, 96 and as a banner ad on the MSU website.

Your dismissive MO is not surprising, the byco narrative is that we're significant to MSU, but MSU is just another game for us. I hope that attitude is shared by your coach and players.

If you just can't get enough talk about that targeting call, you can read another thread on it here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/CFB/comments/3rms45/what_has_been_the_worst_ejection_from_targeting/

whoops: wrong thread that's gone off course in the wrong direction I guess. Whatever. It's just as good here. Pre-thread-nuke anyway.

Looks like everyone agrees it was a bad call, even the MSU posters.

sbee is maybe the most partisan MSU fan of all time.

it's weird, because he's like in his late 30's (?)

Usually, on the ESPN boards, you'd only see that sort of blind, head-in-the-sand partisanship from the teenie-bopper posters who just started watching football. By young adulthood, most people mellow out enough to be able to admit things like "we got away with one there!" when their team benefits from a bad call... but not sbee. He'll be there arguing ad nauseum that any call benefiting MSU was the right call, even if he's alone in a dark room doing it.

It's typical that you try to argue that you're going to win the future, then pivot to your record including the leather helmet era. You really can't argue about the present, since you lost....again. that's what you've been reduced to.

Leather helmet.. Bo was like 17-4 verses MSU.. I mean come on.. Its not like MSU is not thumping their chest right now.. My father-in law a big sparty fan said before Mark's big super run he is on right now it was like 33-9-ish from 1969 to whenever MD started his run.. That was way after leather helmets.. But we know MSU football history starts only 10 years ago.. lol

Since I've been alive, 1982, Michigan is 20-13 against MSU.

I remember playing pee wee football way back in 1990. Our leather helmets were fucking awesome.

right, I disagree with you on the targeting call based on the explanation I watched from Comparoni. I actually thought it was a bad call before that, but that changed my mind. I also said that MSU doesn't deserve to be in the playoff right now, predicted that we'd lose to Michigan, said that we got away with two pick plays in the game that should have been penalties, I'm still predicting that we lose in Columbus (at least 75% likely that we lose) but somehow I'm super partisan.

My point was that the margin is much closer since MSU joined the big ten, it's not that the games don't count before then but those games were hardly the modern era of college football. I said that Michigan dominated before television, but our record against each other in the big ten is a lot closer.

I think we should have history remove all wars prior to (INSERT one of: gun powder, rifles, machine guns, tanks, planes, atomic bombs) because they are no longer modern enough by today's standards. All lands conquered by those old armies must immediately be vacated and if new borders must be established to represent the vacating of those victories of old, so be it. Hence forth, those wars never happened.

I'm currently unsure how to resurrect those who died during those wars, nor how to have their genes subsequently distributed throughout the historical record; however, this is just a minor technicality soon to be resolved when we finally are able to develop the ability to travel through multi-verses.

If you're forbidding the discounting of ancient history, then you have to consider Princeton and Yale to be two of the all time powerhouse programs.
