I think you can always find fault with coaching; notice how no one who's faulted coaching has offered much above and beyond the "they should have tried to score at the end of the 1st half!"

But when UM had 3rd and 2, THAT'S when the decision should have been made as to whether or not to go for it on 4th down. THAT'S where a HC needs to be on the headset with his OC to tell him, "we're going for it on 4th." Then on 3rd and 2, you don't run a rollout, you pound the ball to try to get at least something to set up 4th and short.

There is no excuse for pass, timeout, pass.

THAT'S a coaching gaffe.

THAT'S why a HC wears a headset. His OC needs to KNOW what his HC has decided to do.

I will say. Regardless of who is coaching this team in the future. Green and Smith should be work horses. Draft Horses at that.
