The Official Penn St vs ][V][ichigan Game Thread

That's what stings so badly... sometimes players just don't make the plays. But for a coach to take that attitude/philosophy towards the game, it's sickening. Every time they could have gone for the win, they simply chose not to.

I know I was screaming at the tv for them go for the win. They never did..
Like you said just like Carr left it up to the kicker and lost...

Scared uptight coaches make scared uptight players... Scared and uptight players choke down the stretch. Players need to have fun and play loose and aggressive....

27 carries. 27 yards. What's worse, the YPC or the play calling that gave a guy the ball 27 times who couldn't average falling forward per carry?

Michigan would have been better if the quarterback had simply taken a knee on the opening first down of each offensive posession so far this season.

Oh the two score come from ahead loss to the Jimmy Johnson lead Miami Hurricanes in the late 1980s-put that one on the list too.

Damn onside kick...*&*(&*^&*^&*)&^&^&^&^

Not ready for that either and that was Bo right... Or were they?

It was Bo, and Miami recovered the onside kick...so I guess M wasn't as ready as they should have been...

True statement... about uptight coaches. Shit like that permeates through the team.

Defense gave up 43 points verses this crappy team..

Just like the RR's years..

Oh the 2003 Iowa game when for whatever reason Michigan didn't know how to block when punting...that one sucked...

And now we are 8-2 in ot games and have lost four in a row to PSU...
All avoidable tonight with just a smidge better coaching...

We said close to the same thing after Akron and UConn. It's time to face the fact that this team really isn't any good. Beat zero good teams all season and should be unranked and receiving zero votes after this bed shitting.

akron, UConn and then this debacle....wed be lucky to be a top 50 team.

Agree, true statement. This is why vastly superior OSU teams coached by John Cooper lost to Michigan year, after year, after year.

You're right...

It was only a come from ahead loss in a game for the Big 10 Championship...that's all....

...my bad for even bringing it up...

(I was at that game...only a few of us remember it...)

I was there as well. OSU scored on the opening drive and did not get another first down until 7:11 in the fourth quarter, converting a third and 10. Then they scored with 3 or so minutes to play. Bo, knowing that a tie was not going to get M to the RB, aired it out and Ray Griffin picked off a pass and ran it to the three. Pete Johnson finished. Disappointing to be sure, but there's no shame in that team losing to an undefeated #1 OSU. You want to mention OSU-M games, 1972 and 1974 were far more frustrating than 1975. And none of them can be categorized with yesterday's debacle of a game.

I'd bet a lot of money you beat IU, they're shitty. Qb has no accuracy beyond 5 yards and their defense is awful

Just rubbed some salt in the wound and watched the game again...

1. The Oline seems to have one guy eff up per play. 4 guys do their job, one guy effs up, and Fitz lacks the vision and ability to make a cut to avoid it like Gardner can.

2. The playcalling seems worse now than it did from the stands. Holy hell Borges is a fucktard. Hoke and DG deserve a ton of blame for the delay of game that led to the punt with 50s left but on 3rd and long, they ran a fucking stretch play with an OLine and RB that at that point had 20 carries for 23 yards, 12 of them for no gain or loss, and the previous 4 carries by Fitz were for 0, 1, 3, and 0. When they needed probably 3-5 yards to get into FG range to win, they gave the ball to a guy who only 5 times THE WHOLE game carried the ball for at least 3 yards. 5 of 20 carries at that point got the necessary yardage to put the team in position to win.

3. Channing Stribling missed knocking down the ball on both of PSU's bombs on their game tying drive. HORRID ball skills. Can't really blame coaches for that. He was in position twice and shit the bed.

4. Fitz himself is a better RB on stretch runs with OLine zone blocking but the OLine can't zone block. Green is a better downhill runner with an Oline that doesn't block consistently. What's keeping Fitz on the field is pass blocking and blitz pickup. UM has to try to run to set up PA even if for no gain. But when it's not there, don't do it on 3rd and 2 or when you need a handful of yards to win the game.

IU or PSU? Regardless, it doesn't matter. Buckeyes are going to smoke both squads and everyone else in their path prior to November 30. Meyer will then lead Bucks into The Big House with 23 consecutive wins, an 11-0 record and a #2 or 3 national ranking, thus setting the stage for 1969 redux.

Hey Big Guns, did you delete some posts last night?

No only threads I have ever deleted are mine and maybe one or two others a few years back that were inappropriate. Now I know sometimes I click on the edit or quote button and screw up and hit the delete button by accident. But I normally catch myself there.. So I am pretty sure I did not delete anything last night... Again I was seeing red in my eyes after last night debacle. So I hope I did not delete anything I should not have..
