The Official THE GA][V][E Game Thread 2024 Edition

This is bullshit... both teams got fined by the Big Ten for the post game fracas.

Video CLEARLY shows them starting it, despite how much Gus Johnson & Fox tried to "both sides" it on the broadcast. Our team was out there planting the flag, as lots of schools do, including others have done to us... and a sea of red comes on the field and starts shoving.
The video shows that most of the Buckeyes were down at the endzone area while the band played Carmen Ohio. Unranked Michigan was celebrating their history-making victory at the center of the field of their #2 ranked rivals. Their rivals were heavy favorites by 19-22 points at home and had arrogantly threatened to score 100 pts on them in the recent past. So, it was not surprising for the Wolverines to celebrate the incredible victory. As they were planting their flag a wave of Buckeyes, led by Sawyer, into the Michigan players assaulting them. It was a terrible display of poor sportsmanship. The Michigan players had to defend themselves from the brutal attack. As this assault was occurring the Buckeye's head coach was standing there looking on in a daze, like he had just woken from a terrible nightmare. "What happened?" he asked as the melee occurred. Rather than rushing in to separate his players from the opponent team, he stood there and did nothing. The Michigan coaches and Ohio State assistant coaches were struggling to separate the two teams. The police started spraying mace or bear spray to keep the players apart. Contrary to some reports it appears both teams were sprayed. So, yes, the Buckeye's started the melee, and their coach did nothing. They should be held accountable, and OSU fans should be asking why their coach stood there and did nothing. It was a shameful display of poor sportsmanship by the Buckeyes.

maybe not but picking fights when you win is even worse. You have the most thuggish program in college football. Zero class, and it's a cultural thing that comes from the coaches, down to the players. The fact that they don't act like thugs when Texas and Oregon hand their asses to them doesn't excuse their thuggish behavior when they win. uofm started both those fights, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the full footage of the tunnel incident, if there wasn't more to it than was reported.

and just to pre-empt more of you whiny nonsense, i'm not justifying what happened in the tunnel, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it wasn't more uofm thug behavior that contributed to it.

Edit: and LOL - the one undisciplined team isn't the one acting like a bunch of assholes planting a flag in an opponents field after a game. Good take.

Like I said, one common denominator. I can't make YOU see it, but everyone else does.
a "common denominator" is something that is COMMON to all cases; we won seven (7) games this season, and only got into post game fights in two (2) of them (MSU and OSU)... the common denominator is those two undisciplined programs, not UM. We didn't fight Fresno St., USC, Arkansas St., Minnesota or Northwestern after wins.

Keep trying! I know you will!

Jadyn Davis, almost forgot about him. His parents wanted him to sit out a year which is probably why he didn't play when we desperately needed a better QB. 4 star recruit.

I guess OSU will need a QB next season, will he go there? I hope not!

I sure do miss the old ESPN board. It had that nice feature towards the end of its existence where you could block a user and not have to suffer through tedious trolling. Ahhh the good ol' days.

If you click on name they have an ignore option. Is that not the same?

I don't know how good ESPN's functionality was, but here it obviously only works if you're logged in, so if you log out regularly, and then come back, you'll still see the blocked person's posts. And if someone responds, you see the response, but not the original content.

It blocks whole threads though as well if someone you blocked posts one, so you could miss responses you might want to see. I don't know. I've played around with it, but it's still not perfect... it's not as if the blocked person ceases to exist for you, you can still see signs of them around.

Ah. Okay. That’s weird. Oh well.
