The suh situation

2nd team ALL Pro? They don't count. So Levy wasn't an All Pro. Whether he should have been or not is irrelevant. Nor Quinn, why not add the 3rd and 4th team All Pro's?

Sure the second team counts. There is no such thing as third and fourth team.

Seriously don't compare Suh to Levy or Quinn. You'll look dumb.

4X first team All Pro - by all measures, AP, SN, PFWA
1 second team All Pro - Levy, Quinn welcome to the party
Defensive Lineman of the Year
Rookie of the Year

No duh. That wasn't my point, perhaps you should read sentences in their entirety. What I said was, suh was NOT the only reason for the defensive success, and you being a dipshit without realizing it completely proved my point for me. Suh has been all pro many times, and our defense sucked all of those years except for this one. Obv it wasn't only him that made this defense close to what it was last year.

Even if the defense can stay in the top 10, that's fine. It's up to this "high-powered offense" to keep their end of the bargain.

Agreed, offense can in no way shape or form play like the New York Jets offense again.

Geez well then CJ is useless as well because our offense stunk with him. You are right I really don't get your point.

Suh is the Lions share of our defensive success. This oh well he's not THAT good is just fans trying to convince themselves that his loss won't be that bad. Like a dumped teenager. I think that is your point, you living in dumpsville. Bottom line we are losing our only true superstar defensive player in his prime. The other guys are not on the same level or even close, and yes Mitch only the AP has a second team, there is not a Sporting News or Football Writers Association All-Pro second team because they don't recognize it. Suh was named first team to all three AP, SN and PFWA.

Thanks Mayhew you totally ballsed up again, but its okay we'll be just as good right? Now let's sign Fairley to a long term contract with guaranteed money.

I would strongly disagree with him not being the #1 DT in the league. In my mind, he is far and away the best DT... not even close.

I would put his value above that of Sherman as well, because no matter how much the game changes, football is still won and lost in the trenches. Look at all the early injuries in Detroit's secondary last season. A great D-line that pressures the QB can still make a bunch of bums look acceptable, but a stud CB can't cover if the QB has all day to throw. Sooner or later, the QB will find an open man and beat him.

I say Watt is the ONLY defensive player right now better than Suh. And that's why so many teams are willing to break the bank for the man. Watt never tasted free agency, and won't until his career is on the down. Suh is an elite player in his prime.

Suh is a great player. He is right up there as far as DTs with McCoy, Wilkerson, Dareus for the best DTs. Overall, he is clearly behind Watt for the best overall defensive player. Others on par with Suh are guys like: Houston, Dumerville, Kuechly, Wagner, Willis, Bowman, Sherman, Earl Thomas, Quinn & the DTs that I mentioned.

Hmm, Miami has $4.5 mil to spend. I suppose they will cut a DT if they sign Suh, but the have other positions to fill and Tannehill is up after this season. Suh will be a $5 mil min. hit this year and more likely $6-7,

Yeah they are not the deepest in terms of cap space but they will pay through the nose to spend on splash players. See Wallace, Mike.

But Suh isn't being replaced by a mannequin. If they can find someone who's even somewhat serviceable and does good things in his spot, the defense is not going to suddenly collapse.

4X First team All Pro to someone somewhat serviceable? I wonder if Ink can pull out of his ass the director and stars of Mannequin. Wasn't Vanna White in that? If Suh is Meryl Streep we are getting Vanna White. The Iron Lady starring Vanna White. That's us.

Dude, I know how great he is, but there are other talented guys in the NFL that can be had. I just can't stand hearing the argument that DTs only help the secondary and not vice versa.

But we got Reggie Bush! We got two sub .500 seasons and a WC loss! True win!

Some people think the Lions had a TRUE WIN over New England in the Super Bowl a few months ago and Stafford as the True 2014 NFL MVP!

It's frustrating that all of our restructuring lad us to a whopping 0 playoff wins and 17 million in dead money. Other than Stafford and CJ we never seem to lock up good players long term before their contract is up.
Why have we not locked up Levy long term

Those people have a wall of pinned up pictures tied together with different color string with this picture in the center written over with the word COINCIDENCE? in red lipstick.

The fact weve been in cap hell for years and STILL have 17 mil in dead money is ridiculous. #mayhewproblems

I know things change but does anyone know what our dead money looks like for 2016? No Suh and no Houston on the books
