Revealed today on MLB Radio: Sources said that Detroit Tigers' GM Al Avila and A. J. Hinch both wanted to sign Carlos Correa and an offer just shy of $300 mill was made. The same sources all say that Chris Ilitch was the one who nixed a deal that would have paid more.
 
The Tigers new spring training schedule will feature 18 games, starting still on March 18 in Lakeland against the Phillies, and ending April 5 in Tampa against the Yankees.
