The reunion between Pete Alonso and the Mets have now happened and it was expected to ignite the rest of the free agent market just days before spring training begins.
Alsono goes back to NY on a short-term deal. But instead of this inspiring Scott Boras and his client, Alex Bregman, to now sign, they have doubled-down on their demands.
Some of the most reputable national writers are reporting that Bregman refuses to take a short-term deal and is still looking for a 6-7 year contract. He will be 31 years old next month and when that contract ends, he’ll be 37-38 years old.

There are so many teams in the AL that are .500ish. Teams with no idea how they will finish. Detroit imo has a chance to make the playoffs about the same as a dozen other teams.
